Preseason Cascade/Maverik Media Poll

The preseason Cascade/Maverik Media Poll has been released, with Notre Dame taking the top spot.

The Irish begin their 2016 campaign Feb. 20 in a neutral-site contest against Georgetown, held at Kennesaw State University near Atlanta. Notre Dame is also No. 1 in the 2016 Face-Off Yearbook released in the fall. In the Media Poll, Notre Dame earned 17 of 26 first-place votes.

Denver also has a case for No. 1, taking the top spot in the USILA Coaches' Poll and grabbing nine first-place votes. The Pioneers beat Johns Hopkins in a sold-out scrimmage over the weekend.

Duke, Maryland and Syracuse make up the rest of the Top 5. The Orange were No. 8 in the Face-Off Yearbook but rose in the Media Poll, while UNC dropped three spots to No. 8.
