Reports saying the Yankees/Cashman is looking for both a 2'nd baseman as well as a 3'rd baseman

The roster is supplied with both. At third he has Prado. At second he has Pirela and Refsnyder. Why give up players and or money for something you have. Pirela has been a successful player at the lower levels and showed well when called up . Refsynder has been agitating machine and projects to be as good in the majors.Cashman has never been reluctant to spend money or give up big name and future farm kids The farm system is no longer a joke and i loaded with players waiting for their chance.Cashman'concept is to give them that chance elsewhere. I just hope that the Steinbrenner kids have different perspective.Servino is going to be huge when he gets to NYC. There are other down there waiting to do that but have the anchor of a GM who wouldn't have given Derek Jeter an opportunity like thje Boss did.

The farm system still has its fair share of issues, especially at the outfield positions. The better prospects are still at the lower levels and only time will tell but we will see how they are shaping up in the next year or so. This coming year will be very telling on a slew of top prospects the Yankees have and how to adjust to a rise in competition.
