After posting the third-fastest 10,000-meter time in school history, and eighth fastest nationally so far this season at the Stanford Invitational this weekend, Syracuse's Shaylyn Tuite has been named ACC Performer of the Week.
She finished the 10k in 32:22.04 this weekend, which is the top-time of any ACC runner this season in the event.
Tuite, a Pittsford, N.Y. native has come on strong during her junior campaign, having concluded her indoor season at the ACC Championships with a fourth place finish and personal best time of 16:15.53 in the 5k.
Tuite also had an excellent cross country season, taking 55th at the NCAA Championships, helping lead the Orange to an 11th-place finish, which was the second-highest finish in program history.
The Stanford Invitational was the first outdoor race of the season for the Orange, with the teams set to continue action at either the Miami Hurricane Invitational or Princeton's Sam Howell Invitational this weekend.

The Syracuse track and field teams continued their outdoor campaigns this weekend, with the Orange sending a group of sprinters to the Miami Hurricane Invitational, while a group of distance runners competed in the Princteon Sam Howell Invitational.
At the Miami Hurricane Alumni Invitational, Freddie Crittenden III won the 110-meter hurdles by a wide margin, finishing in 13.53, a full 0.2 seconds ahead of the rest of the field. His time now stands as the second-best nationally in the event, and currently is the top time amongst those attempting to qualify for the NCAA East Regional.
Richard Floyd (14.22), David Gilstrap (14.34) and Chevis Armstead (14.68) all finished in the top-17 as well in the event.
Winston Lee turned in a stellar performance in the 100-meters, taking sixth overall, but second among those competing collegiately. Teammates Kashif Miller (10.86/22nd) and Zack Warden (10.90/24th) were also competing.
The Orange also won the 4x100-meter relay as well, with Crittenden, Miller, Warden and Lee racing to a time of 40.13 seconds and taking the win.
Miller and Warden later ran the 200-meters, taking 25th and 29th respectively.
In jumps, Jabari Butler finished sixth in the high jump, clearing 2.05 meters, while Randall Johnson took 10th, finishing at 2.00 meters. Pascal Bastein competed in the triple jump for SU, taking 11th with a mark of 13.76 meters.
At Princeton, the 'Cuse women put two runners in the top-eight of the women's 5000-meters. Mary Malone led the way taking fourth (16:56.97). Rebecca Skodis followed closely behind with a time of 17:14.75, taking eighth. Emily Nist (1746.52) and Chelsie Pennello (18:05.92) finished 23rd and 35th respectively to round out the Orange in the field.
Syracuse Juris Silenieks had the best finish for the men at the event, taking fifth (third among collegiate competitors) in the 5k. He finished in 14:28.55.
Paul Lovell took sixth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:53.20.
In the 1500-meters, Nick Ryan finished 15th, crossing the line in 3:55.89. Bridget Twomey (28th/4:42.72) and Liz Reynolds (33rd/4:43.54) competed in the women's race for the Orange.
Syracuse will next have the weekend off, before again splitting up, with the distance group headed to the Virginia Challenge, while the sprinters go to the Auburn War Eagle Invitational.
