I couldn't wait to see the episode, then when I watched how certain references of Syracuse was way off. It brought me back to college and how everyone from the city thought that Syracuse is a rural area.

Great References: Corcoran High School ( Named after my great-great uncle)
    Oswego
Wooded areas throughout NY (don't have that down here in Texas)

Terrible References: Stated that Syracuse was a hamlet
Home of the Syracuse Cougars (didn't realize cougars were native to Syracuse)
Police Headquarters was the center of a small one stop light town (wondered if it was the Catskills)
Stated that Oswego was a couple of miles from Canada
Went to a diner that was called the Freehold Diner (figured out to be Freehold, NY)

All the misconceptions that my fellow Oswego grads from downstate had about Syracuse being rural were shown in that episode. Well still nice to see the scenery of NY.

Actually, the sign said "Syracuse Bobcats".

Gross probably wanted $$$ for the rights.

I'd score that one as a medium. It is only about 20 miles to Canadian waters according to my very rough Google Map estimate.
