Schedule for high school football Scrimmage Saturday

Warriors set for comeback season

It seems odd to read about Saturday am HS scrimmage schedules when in NC HS Friday Night Lights has already started.

"Getting pushed up to the second-team offense Monday along with Clark were true freshmen Alvin Cornelius III (6-1, 185) and Ben Lewis (6-2, 199). While Lewis has impressed with his ability to catch the ball, Cornelius seems to be the more developed all-around receiver when it comes to catching, blocking and knowing the playbook at this early stage and may have the edge if one of them is needed this season." - Rahme

Don't really agree with this, but it is a good sign that we have 2 good true freshmen on the depth chart. Lewis looked great on Saturday.

Cornelius was a stud on Staten Island. Top player in the city along with Wayne Morgan. Only reason he didn't have more offers is because he committed early and wanted to play WR. He's a good one.

Lewis/Cornelius are two good, solid players in the freshman class. Both should hopefully redshirt, giving them four years eligibility starting next year.

Funderburk could be the star and he'll have three years left after this year.

And you look at Foster/Hale/Kobena/West who all have at least three more years. Not to mention Flemming who was having an outstanding camp and will hopefully be able to help once back from injury.

Yes, they have to prove it on the field. But you have to think a couple of these kids are going to pan out. They all have the measureables and attributes you look for.
