Syracuse started its spring season last weekend when it faced Colgate and Binghamton at Manley Field House. The Orange have four more dates this spring, including a March 28 matchup against the Western New York Flash of the WPS.

The Orange, which returns 20 student-athletes from the 2014 season, will face the Flash for the second straight year when it travels to Buffalo on March 28. The Flash features U.S. national team members Abby Wambach and Whitney Engen, who will play in the World Cup in Canada this summer.

Pair Signs NLIs to Join Orange Women's Soccer

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse head women's soccer coach Phil Wheddon has announced two student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent. Eva Gourdeau and Hannah Specht will join the program next fall.

"We are thrilled to have Eva and Hannah joining our program," Wheddon said. "They both possess the attributes to be successful in the ACC and we are excited to see them this fall. Eva and Hannah come to us from great club programs and will contribute immediately".

Gourdeau, a native of Beverly, Mass., recorded more than 100 points and averaged 25 goals per season at Beverly High School. She also led the team in assists for three seasons. Gourdeau is a member of the FC Stars ECNL program and helped the squad to the 2011 Massachusetts State Cup championship. Gourdeau is a three-time NEC All-Star and Salem News All-Star. The forward/midfielder helped her team finish in the top 16 in three ECNL National Championships. Gourdeau participated in the 2012 US National ID Camp and was a Nike's "The Champ" Finalist.

Specht, a midfielder from West Chester, Pa., earned first-team All Ches-Mont League honors as a senior when she recorded 12 goals, 12 assists and led her team to the second round of Regional playoffs. A four-year varsity starter, she was a three-time All Ches-Mont First Team honoree as well as an honorable mention All-State selection as a junior. Specht is a member of the Penn Fusion ECNL program. She was selected to the All-Event Team at the 2013 ECNL event at Dallas. Specht served as team captain in her senior year and finished her high school career with 38 goals and 43 assists.

SU kicks off their spring season schedule this Friday, 2/27, with a 7v7 Tournament vs Colgate & Binghamton in Manley Field House at 5PM.

So was this at manley? another way the IPF pays off.

Soccer has been using the IPF as well, and they've done these type of events at Manley for the last 2-3 years.
