Bird probably has gotten himself traded by showing up big in the Arizona Fall League. A first baseman who bats lefty in Yankee Stadium and has power. He should be Teixeira's backup or replacement sooner than expected because Marky is sliding down fast. His body is like peanut brittle. Signing Headley who could occasionally spell Teixeira is questionable but preferable to trading for a lesser player at the expense of the farm kids being developed. Not every give away star farm player is going the way of getting Pineda of Montero. The Yankees top 20 players are loaded with players who are projecting big.
