I think Zona loses one of these games. If we can hold serve, we'll be #1 when the polls come up 2/3.

I h ave to admit I do enjoy how there is a thread before just about every Arizona game predicting a loss for them. It will happen eventually

I dont see them losing either game. Here is their remaining schedule. At Utah is the only threat here as they dont play UCLA again. Its more important we get Wichita with a loss than Arizona.

I can't see Arizona remaining undefeated through the 7 game "gauntlet", with 5 on the road against .500 0r .500+ conference teams.

"Gauntlet" is purely in relative terms as it is the hardest stretch on their conference schedule.

Stanford and Cal need 1 win to cement NCAA berths like Wake Forest this week against Syracuse. Arizona isn't going undefeated just because they will bring their C/B- game one more in conference play and somebody else will bring their A game and beat them. Honestly who cares about being number 1 in the regular season as long as we get Buffalo/MSG we have a great chance to make it to Dallas.

Cal looked pretty bad against UCLA yesterday. I care more about how we do than how Arizona does actually. In fact if we aren't #1 till April 7th, I 'll be ecstatic.

It is fun to look at it I suppose. But this is just my own superstition, but I have a history when I start worrying about other teams losing more than Syracuse winning, it blows up in my face. There have been a few instances in particular this has happened in March.

If that happens, you almost certainly right. At best, however, I'm guessing it would not be unanimous. At worst, it still might be a lot closer than one would think. Not a knock on SU, but I suspect there would be reluctance to make us a clear #1.

I would certainly vote us #1, but my vote doesn't count.

FWIW, we are #15 in Sagarin. #15.

I wouldn't expect it to be unanimous because there are always a few jackbags...but at 21-0 we would have to be the overwhelming #1.

I'll be surprised if they lose one. Utah couldn't get a shot up in the last 4min. Their coach was telling them to speed up the offensive attack and it would still take 33sec for them to get blocked, turn it over or toss a wild brick off the backboard from distance. AZ has stellar defense to call on when needed as well as a player you can just give the ball to and move out of the way in Johnson. Cal and Stanford are decent clubs but I doubt either pulls off the win.
