Offer the kid, no one thinks he is Pearl or Sherm(then again no one thought Sherm would be Sherm) but he could turn out to be a solid 4 year kid.
He's WAAAAAY better than the ZERO OTHER PG's WE'VE SIGNED FOR 2017 SO FAR. :bang:
There has to be something going on here or else our arrogance is unreal. Since when are we good enough to dismiss a kid who wants to come here with programs who are experiencing success.
I think we want Ayala and Duarte first as they are higher upside...
We also wanted Green and look what happened. I get it. It's not that simple. Just would hate to lose out on Washington if Ayala or Duarte don't come here.I think we want Ayala and Duarte first as they are higher upside...
I get that but it hasn't been working and we are certainly not in a position to be choosy. Sadly, beggars can't be choosers. Let's get a kid who wants to be here, has legit offers, is in our recruiting wheelhouse.I think we want Ayala and Duarte first as they are higher upside...
Nice PS article about this recruit. In light of his recent play [reported on in depth by Francis / Iommi], I hope that this kid lands an offer.
At minimum, I could see him as a four year program guy who provides supplemental backcourt depth. And if he pans out--disco. If not, we can recruit over him in 2018.
But we've lacked PG depth since the 2012 seasons [5 straight years], and we've had a new starting PG each of those five years. Time to build some appropriate backcourt depth.
Also, I don't believe that this kid would scare off either Ayala or Duarte. There's room for all three.
Washington and Brissett...
Why the deuce haven't we offered him? Is there some great grad transfer I'm not getting the message about? F his ratings and what not, look at his offers. Multiple great talent evaluating coaches have offered him. Get him over here and lets develop him into a 4 year contributor. You know, those building block guys that allow your program to survive after continuous years of 1 and dones.

I agree.I agree with just about everything you said above. But let's trust the coaching staff here--they must have something cooking that we aren't fully aware of, or that we aren't privy to.
Ayala just visited last weekend. Maybe something is percolating there. Or maybe they project Duarte as a point. :noidea:
I would offer him, and wouldn't feel bad if we do despite the ratings. Because I think he could be precisely what you suggest--a four year guy who might develop into a starter, and backcourt depth even if he doesn't.
