The all-inclusive Rutgers dumpster fire thread...

Thanks Tom. Any idea when Syracuse is signed through? Being a private school really makes it tougher on us fans to gather valuable info... lol
I don't know. Perhaps a deep throat from the AD office can provide this information...

And you thought we had a bad Metlife deal. Rutgers is paying the Yankees $750K to come play conference foe Maryland at Yankees Stadium this year.

Rutgers is paying a ton for Maryland matchup at Yankee Stadium

Oh, and remember when they all said the new Big 10 deal will get them out of the large subsidies they put on their students? Well...seems those subsidies are headed back North, and they're having to borrow against future Big10 payouts to cover costs.

Rutgers athletics borrows against future Big Ten revenue to cover $39M shortfall

What a mess.

Add to that the "record breaking fundraising year" In-depth look at how Rutgers smashed its athletics fundraising record and this number makes no sense at all! They get $9MM+ from the B1G and $30.3MM from donors and still fall short by $36MM! And that is after all other revenue has been added. Ladies and Gentlemen, please do NOT let your kid go to Rutgers, but if you do DO NOT let them go for accounting and finance!

What the story doesn't tell is that Chris Christie was the biggest donor at $25 million....Bill to provide $25M in tax credits for Rutgers facilities plan advances

How accurate can that list be when Oregon comes in at no.38 on that list for 2.99 mil.

Where would IMG fall in? Surely ahead of rutgers
Oregon signed a long term deal a long time ago, taking money up front. They will sign a big renewal with Nike next year...

Thus, the total is:

$9+MM from the B1G
$30.3MM from Donors
$25MM from The Gov

$64.3MM Total ... and we haven't added in the revenue generated by hosting the B1G schools!

Then they still fall short by $39MM!

More than $100MM and noting to show for it. Good math Rutgers! Most first graders can do better math than that.

I saw that,but Arkansas signs a year later for $750,000 more a year...Arkansas!!!!

Take in LaBron's $ 500 million lifetime contract then Michigan's $169 million 15 year and Texas reported $200 million deal that is a lot of cash and goods to be laying out on those 3 deals.Almost half of Michigan's deal ($80.2 million) is valued in uniforms and gear. Can't wait to hear how their uni's suck

How much is the coaching staffs getting from these deals?

  1. Rutgers: 2-10 (0-9 Big Ten)

At least Rutgers has Eastern Michigan and Morgan State on the schedule. The Scarlet Knights must figure out their quarterback situation, though a mass transfer thinned out the depth chart. Chris Ash has an arduous process ahead, and he'll need another year or two before seeing the results that matter most.
Projected record for this year

Don't worry, Ash. Many have tried the arduous process and the highest anyone has ever gotten was mediocre.

Meh, they will get 4 wins.

Meh, they will get 4 wins.

They have a chance to beat Purdue and at Illinois and they have an outside chance of beating Maryland at Yankee Stadium. Beyond that, forget it. And I wouldn't count on them beating Purdue, Illinois or Maryland either. 2-3 wins sounds right.

i don't see any chance for them to beat illinois or maryland.

So, what you are saying is that New Jersey cannot even cheat right. No wonder Rutgers' athletics programs are in disarray.
Can you imagine if we signed that 7'1" player. Pitino would get cleared, but not us.

Chris Laviano to San Diego State. Remember him? The Long Island guy we didn't recruit, and I remember Tom questioning why he was getting Power 5 offers.

Only P5 school to offer him was Rutgers. Recruited by old friend Rob Spence.

I hope he gets a chance to play there. Looks like they brought him in to be a backup...

And the dumpster fire continues to burn. But that smell isn't old tires or garbage burning. According to the NYT, it's money.
