I'm a long time lurker going back many years and I receive much of my Syracuse "inside info" from your site but I have a question/ request. I find that many times I will click on a headline and the first post... on the first page regarding that topic seems like it is already in the middle of a conversation or so "encrypted" that I have to read through 7 pages of posts to find out the details of what is being discussed. For example...the "Eric Ayala Derailed" thread. I know of Eric Ayala and I know we are recruiting him and the first post says " Grad transfer U leading us to the land of Bubbles." Maybe I'm stupid and don't know how this site works but many of us don't have time to read through several pages of posts just to find out the basis of the conversation. Again, maybe I"m missing something because I pop in and pop out but I have to think this is an issue for others as well. On a last note I really do appreciate this forum and all the die hard Cuse fans...I just get frustrated when I can't quickly come in ..see a topic and then see the feedback on the topic.

The "Derailed" threads are ones created to compile all of the off-topic comments from the player threads in the Recruiting forum. I think 3 or 4 of these threads were created recently. But that's why those ones seem to start from a random spot.

The little 'up arrow' next to quoted messages (at the top of the quoted message next to "[user name] said:") within a post can also help track a conversation if you come in at the middle or end. Click that arrow and it will take you to the quoted message. If all the messages have quotes from the messages being replied to, you can keep clicking the arrows to track the convo back to the beginning.

Couple things:
That Derailed thread was created to collect all the garbage out of the true Eric Ayala thread (linked above). It is like a CDO of sub-prime BBB rated posts from another thread.

What you are asking for isn't really appropriate. This is not a news page, it is a place for conversations. So when you click the Eric Ayala thread in the recruiting forum, you are not going to be presented with the latest news on Eric Ayala in the sense that you would if this was CNN or a blog. You are going to see a running conversation about his recruitment. I don't think it is fair or even possible to request something different because that is not what this place is for. There are other places to get the latest official information about these things with a single click.
