Still expecting Chuckwu to not have it?

This lineup doesn't score 60 PPG.

No spacing on the floor to penetrate and no shooting beyond Battle.
I wonder if Frank or Washington has the better jumpshot seems to be Washington. So Washington Battle Oshae Matt and Thompson

We need bigs who can actual post up and get the ball and score.

We wasted this potential in Lydon. He was able to shoot and post up.

I keep saying we should be able to find a Rick Jackson type big every cycle or atleast every 2 cycles. It shouldn't be 6 years and counting on this.
Beyond Rak's Senior year and Lydon who we didn't feature enough we don't bother with recruiting skilled offensive bigs.

It's why we have become an ISO, pick and roll, and jump shooting offense.

I guess you forgot that Thompson was our best shooter last year.

I would expect he would improve his defense enough to spend more time on the floor.

Thompson wasn't close to the defenses attention. You get that when you are the defense fourth assignment you are going to get a lot easier shots right? You actually get this stuff right?
Lydon, White, Gillon, Battle were the top options last year.
Next year defenses are going to key on Battle and Thompson.

He also took way too many long 2s.

You say you expect his defense to improve and cite nothing but opinion to support your statement. Why is Thompson's D going to improve?

I guess you forgot to include your support.

Excuse me for ruining your day!

If you want to post to me, keep it decent or don't bother. I get this stuff and don't talk down to me kid.

You don't know anymore than I do that Thompson will be less than last year. I don't see any support for your statements either.

I gave my opinion. I'm sorry if it conflicted with yours.

I don't understand how people think Thompson can play anywhere but the 5. Dude couldn't play any defense from that spot last year but people think he's going to play a position that requires you to cover even more ground? I don't see it. In fact I don't think there's a chance in hell he doesn't play the 5 99% of the time. One of Sidibe and Chukwu is going to back him up when he gets into foul trouble. Who that is, nobody knows. I expect Brissett, Marek, and Moyer to rotate between the wing positions.

Lol
You ruined nothing. All I did was respond to you how you responded to Brian.

Thompson will be better on defense . . . . Since it would take a huge effort to be worse.
This is how you give support to an opinion. I agree I hope he gets better but I am not giving it a foregone conclusion. Defense takes effort you have to give a lot of energy and effort to excel on D. Hopefully Thompson makes a leap from Freshman to Sophomore as defensive ability for him has to improve if he wants to make the NBA.

Yep, we really sort of need an NBA worthy season from Tyus and TT to be good. . . . . . . Plus a PG. . . . . . . Plus our rookie forwards playing well. . . . . . . Plus well you get the idea.

I'll go with Thorpe, Battle, OB, MM, TT. Marek first off the bench. It could easily be Marek at the 3, OB at the 4, and Moyer first off the bench. Or MM at the 4, and OB first off the bench. Depends who develops at the 3.

If we get Thorpe, then I think those are the three most likely scenarios. His shooting will help spread the floor, so we will have multiple options. Sign him up already. I don't know if I mentioned that I love his game. Can't remember.

The frontcourt will work itself out. I don't see much TT at the 4. TT/PC/BS man the middle.

Frank will be the 1st guard off the bench at that point. Then we have our 7.5, depending on who wins out between PC, and Sidibe. Love Washington, and think he can contribute too. So we will call it 8.

If we get Thorpe, I don't see Washington playing at all. Guard rotation will be set with the 3 we have. Battle is playing minimum 35 mpg and the other 45 minutes split between Thorpe and Howard.

Probably right. I'd like to see him redshirt, but then we have just three guards, which is what we are all worried about now. Though, a lot of that has to do with two of them being the Howards.

Howard, Battle, Brissett, Moyer, Thompson.

Thorpe gets 2/3 the pt at the point but does not start. Sidibe earns time over PC. Moyer pleasantly surprised and holds down valuable minutes at the 4 so Thompson can slide over and we have a solid offensive lineup.

Brissett will turn heads, I think the Slovak will need a year to develop and adjust.

Why hasn't Thorpe been on campus yet for a visit if JB is less then thrilled with the grad transfer? Seems the sooner he can start learning the system the better off the team will be.

Thorpe
Battle
Brissett
Thompson
Sidibe (think his defense is going to be BMKish and that's in a different stratosphere than anything else we have there)

While I agree with your sentiment, the reason is likely that there is only one scholarship left, and JB may still have a target on the radar(such as Eric Ayala, if he can be closed on reclassifying) that he likes more than Thorpe for whatever reason(s). While it can make us nervous, we can also choose to see it as a good thing if JB feels he may be able to get somebody better, as good of a get as Thorpe would be. It almost feels odd having this be an issue after last season.

As for projecting lineups, I'm going to hold off on that for awhile. Whether or not Thorpe/Ayala/recruit to be named later is closed makes a large difference, beyond the usual things like how guys look on the court when theyre on campus. Im curious if FH makes a jump, and if TT's D will make a jump before he likely makes a different kind of jump. I'd love to see some jumps that would make Van Halen proud, but at this point, who really knows?

I'm out of the loop... who is thorpe?
