This is not necessarily directed at you, tomcat, but can't we be happy that we got a great receiver without gloating over Rutgers every time??

Maybe for some of us this is just good fun, but it certainly never comes across that way. Rutgers has handed it to us about the last 15 x we played them, last time I checked, so I really don't understand the incessant slams. It's not gonna make Rutgers any worse and it certainly doesn't make us any better
You are entitled to your opinion.

I don't care abou Rutgers recruiting much. Don't follow it. I wanted to see where Taj was rated in the NJ top 50 so it looked it up (he was 23rd and 24th in the lists I saw). While looking that up, I noticed RU had no players in the NJ top 25. Hadn't seen that mentioned anywhere, thought it was interesting and worth mentioning. If that offended you, I am sorry.

Great great pickup. Anytime we get a Jersey kid over Rutgers or PA kid over Pitt I think it shows movement in the right direction.

Nice regional recruit, nice size/speed combo - love that he's top 25 NJ. Looking forward to seeing him light up the dome in a few years.

I'll take Dino's evaluations over Chris Ash's evaluations any day of the week and twice on Sunday though.
Twice on Saturday.

We gotta keep winning these recruitment battles to stay on pace with Pitt. They're on the up just like us.

Gloating? Who was gloating? Not Tom!

I've always found your posts to be measured, fair, thoughtful, and on occasion, humorous. That being said:

Buttgers pretty much thought they were in the drivers seat with him. Too bad

I asked this earlier, but what is Syracuse's minimum SAT requirement? I take it he surpassed it with a 980 or there would be more concern surrounding it, right?

something about his comments make me a little leery that he may not be totally committed. its the two sport contingency that bothers me. oh well, hope i am being paranoid again

I don't have an answer for you...it's been so long since I took an SAT that I don't even know if that is a good score anymore.;)

Not sure how picky 'Cuse tends to be. In terms of academic standards for athletes, we're not as stringent as, say, Stanford.

That said, looking at the sliding scale, as long as his GPA is above a 2.325, he'll be fine.

As of today, they still have none of the top 25 players in the NJ class of 2018 verbaled there. It is remarkable.

So the new normal is the same as the old normal?

No. Rutgers deserves every bit of ridicule it receives.

Curious as to why you think "Rutgers has handed it to us about the last 15 x we played them". I'm sure someone has mentioned in this thread that our record against them in the last 15 games is 7-8. Sounds pretty even to me. And the last game in your sample size of 15 had the result of SU 70, the Girls 14. Not exactly handing it to us.

Let's go back a bit more, since 15 was an arbitrary choice. SU wins the previous 11 games. Overall, SU is 30-12-1 in the series. Yet, their delusional fan base thinks they are the greatest thing since sliced bread. THURSDAY NIGHT!!!!

They are the worst overall P5 team. And they are only P5 because of where their swamp is located. Again, they should be ridiculed as often as possible.

If I could like this a thousand times I would. People around here give Rutgers way too much credit for being mediocre when we were bad.
