That's why Tyree was able to hold on to that ball.
The team played horribly in SB 42.
The Giants D played great but the team was off the whole week in practice it's been documented in New England.
How during SB week Belichick had Jim Brown at practice on Wednesday and team was awful and Jim Brown was shocked how bad they were. Belichick became worried how tight the team was.

Brown: Patriots didn't practice well before Super Bowl XLII

The team was tight during practice all during the SB.
The Giants pass rush was awesome but the teams played 3 weeks earlier and Pats scored 38 points and the Giants scored 35.

Pats were tight the second half of 2007 season.

When the Rams and Pats played a few weeks before their sb the Rams beat them, it happens, The Pats couldn't block Tuck, Unemyoa, Strahan, Cofield, Brady was uncomfortable all game, that was why they lost.

I don't buy it, the Giants pass rushers affected the team, I don't think they were phased by the game or the perfect season.
From this article
Most Compelling: 2007 Patriots

Super Bowl XLII: Giants 17, Patriots 14

Koppen: The bye week was tough. We had three practices back-to-back in full pads.

Kyle Brady (tight end): The only practices that we had that we went backwards. We didn't perform the way we were capable. Was it possible that that team was tired? We had to put out so much energy to get to that point maybe we had peaked and maybe we were physically and emotionally drained. The crispness and the sharpness were lacking. Wednesday and Thursday practices are the most critical. [Belichick] brought us up and said, "Fellas, today the Giants got ahead of you." It wasn't just lip service. The standard that was set wasn't matched.

I don't want to go over the Rams stuff as I doubt you watched the first game which was a Sunday night game. The Pats lost because of turnovers. That game was why I thought they had a chance in SB 36.

The Patriots team was awful in practice the week for SB 42. It's a fact. The pressure of being undefeated hurt them.
They didn't lose because of the pass rush they lost because the Giants scored more points. They were the better team that day.

I did actually with my dad who is a Rams fan, I remember it well. The Giants did next to nothing that day on offense, the Pats couldn't move the ball at all, they hurried Brady all game long.

The Giants did next to nothing?

They moved the ball all day long and had a huge time of possession advantage in the first half. Their opening drive was 17 plays and 10 minutes long.

Their offense helped their D stay fresh and if Eli doesn't throw a dumb INT in the 2nd they get another score. Then the last drive at the first half they ran out of time.

Pats D was paper mache good that game. They stopped the Giants from getting in FG range a few times but the Giants Offense wasn't shut down at all.

The Giants scored 17 points, they would have scored 10 if had not been for an incredible miracle catch.

'Miracle Catch'???????!

If Tyree was at least a C level receiver he catches that with 2 hands easily...and is simply taken to the ground by a beaten Harrison.

But alas he was a D- level receiver, so we get that awesome catch.

Dakpernick and the pokes will struggle to get to 8 wins this year.

There is no need to play out the season, heres how it will go. Your Afc title game will be Pats/Raiders at Foxboro, the pats win in a close one. Your Nfc title game will be Cowboys/Packers at Lambeu, Zeke and Dak get their revenge against the Pack in the snow. The Cowboys pull a Ny Giants from Sb 25 and hold on to the ball for 40 mins and stun the Pats. Title number 6 for my Boys.

You know football season is approaching when Brian makes his first ill-fated Cowboys Super Bowl prediction :)

Giants wanted it more. This is why super bowls aren't won in November.

Bills camp:

Sounds like Shaq is tearing it up in camp so far.

Sammy is full go and looks healthy.

2 biggest pieces of news so far.

Sterling Shepard has been carted off the field in tears.

****WARNING****

im going to start drinking in 2 hours and I may come back on here just to start cutting some of you pieces.

just an aggression release.

some of you should take it personal though...

Sonovabitch. :(

Sounds like Shepard has a serious knee injury, was apparently in tears while being carted out. In unsurprising Bills news after rave reviews about his play from the start of camp Micah Hyde of course got injured today, luckily he appears to be OK. Please rest him until game 1, thanks.

apparently they are looking at his ankle.
