Star Wars: best order for newbies?

Nothing to report. Due to the various cruds going around, and Girl Scout functions three of my five nieces are doing, we had to cancel V and have not been able to reschedule until prob April.
Draw it out so that it matches the release dates of the originals. :D

Update: watched V last week. Nothing serious to share, but seems to have been a good choice to go in original order to keep surprises in tact. Only one kid looked at me funny when leia kisses Luke because she remembered from seeing them before that they were siblings.

My inlaws (the other parents) were surprised to learn a little trivia I handed them... John Ratzenberger (cliff claven on cheers) is in V. Even funnier, is with all the Disney movies he has done voice overs for, them now owning the Star Wars saga only continues his Disney legacy. If you didn't know this, I won't say where to find him. You can look for him next time!

Thanks for the update. No Luke/Vader reveal stories?

You know, that's a good point. Honestly these kids aren't completely unaware of Star Wars. I think that is such an iconic movie moment, it didn't phase them. One kid said, "oh yeah, I forgot about that". Most of them were mad at Lando for what he did to them when Vader arrived.

You can't unsee it

Ha yes I had seen that a while back. It is very impressive nobody face planted. My daughter wanted the whole family to dress up as Star Wars characters for Halloween and I can tell you, can't see squat out of the helmets!!

Sorry. It was so "uneventful" I forgot to update. The 7, 8 yr range is losing steam. Played Skip-bo in another room. The older kids are in board and are excited for 1,2,3. Boy are they in for a disappointment. :)

Ha! I forgot about this. Glad to hear the saga continues. Look forward to the after action report. Maybe the 7, 8 year old crowd will be energized by a dose of Jar Jar!

Bite your tongue!!

Phantom Menace was received okay, although there was definitely some confusion regarding the whole timeline thing.

My god, George Lucas should be apologizing to all of us for these three movies. The acting, jar jar, etc is just awful. And am I the only one who prefers the puppet yoda?

So glad the newer films are great so far.
