Buffalo Bills 2018

Kid gets the start.

Third preseason game is usually the most realistic and longest look at what you have so should be an interesting watch.

Also, to throw another twist in the mix, AJ did NOT fracture his collarbone and is day to day. Uhh, what lol?

One guy who is very bulled up on Josh Allen is Adam Schein. Watched him the other day and he referred to Allen as the next Carson Wentz. If he's anywhere close to being right on that call then there are going to be some mighty happy Bills fans down the road.

I don't know what it is about Allen where people want to go all in on one side or the other. world we live in these days I guess with one hot take after the other. I have been impressed so far and hope he continues to show progress, ton of talent, huge arm, big athletic for sure, will hang in the pocket but can move as well and definitely a gun slinger which I love. Kid has handled his business and has carried himself very well so far. Like that the vets are getting behind him as well. Still cant figure out McDermott's man crush on the Peterman but Allen will take over soon enough. Bills will play Peterman enough to see if they can keep around as a legit #2 guy.

Ton of cap space after this year and if Allen can solidify his spot as starting QB in the league things should continue to move forward. Need to bolster the O Line to protect him too.

So you are an Allen fan?

Thoughts on Mack? Realistic chance he gets traded or pipe dream?

Now would be the time to get him, with Josh Allen on a rookie contract for what would be, the entirety of Mack’s deal.

Mack would cost probably a first and third minimum.

If the Bills were sure a team that pick wouldn’t end up top 10 it’s good value.
Mack is a stud when engaged but look at Von Miller whom Mack wants his contract like once they get paid the production isn’t the same.
Miller is a stud but the Denver D isn’t what it was before he got paid and they had to move veterans to pay his increase.

The AFC is more open than the NFC. So if your close you make the trade.
If Green Bay had any motivation to win they are the team especially with NO first round pick in their bank that should offer that those 2 first round picks and get Mack.

Probably a pipe dream , the Raiders are going to want a massive return for him despite the contract issues any new team will walk into. Your talking at least a 1st rounder and another higher pick like a 3. Mack is a great player but unless were getting Tony Bosselli in his prime I can't see any scenario where we move next years 1st round draft pick.

I'm sure they're asking for a 1st and 3rd, but I'm not sure I see the market offering them that given:

A) You will be giving up two high picks plus tying up a massive amount of cap space in Mack.

B) This draft is loaded at the DL position.

I'd for sure offer a 2nd and Shaq or Hughes. If we need to move to a 1st and a player, I'd be tempted. Not giving up a 1st and 3rd though...would be surprised if anyone does.

QB - Allen
DE - Mack
CB - White
LT - Dawkins

That core might be worth paying a reasonable price for.

If the Jets or Packers are willing to offer more than that, then nah...

Like anything else it depends on the opportunity cost. If in lieu of Mack you can use your surplus of Cap $ wisely on good players who want to be here, great, do that and crush the draft.
It's not always that easy. You can "reach" in FA just like in the draft 'cause you irrationally fall in love, or know their position coach, or you still think Chris Ivorys of the world are worth something in 2018, or it's just a weak FA class of WRs/OLmen/Whoever and you need to spend on someone. That's how you get Derrick Dockery I think.
I guess I'm sorta talking myself into this idea; tho it depends a bit on next yr's FA/Draft class.
Of course none of it matters unless Allen is good in which case woohoo who cares about anything else.

Looking forward to seeing josh play a half with the first unit today while also keeping in mind it's preseason and I've been guilty of premature excitement a few times.

It happens

Willing to give the Defense a real game before I start judging them.

The OL on the other hand... this is legit unwatchable. I can’t believe how bad they look. We can’t even run a passing play.

This is brutal! In all aspects - offense and defense

OLine is Swiss cheese.
Allen’s decision making is slow.
Play design (I.e sending the RB in motion to empty the backfield on your rookie RB) is moronic.
Vontae is slow and got abused on Ross’ TD.

But it’s just a crappy preseason game with no Shady.

Your defense will be fine as they are running a vanilla system.
However that LG and C on your team woof are they bad.
Bills shouldn’t start Allen to start the year. Let the backup get his brains beat in.
