I just want to remind everyone that UNC game planned

They will play the pass more that should open the run more for our backs. Teams stack the box to take away ED's running ability. But our playbook should open us as well as TD can make more throws than ED.

We’re likely riding a 3 game losing streak under Dungey and his (most likely injury related) regression into NC State.

Do we think he’s going to heal up and play better in 7 days?

If the answer is no, having Devito gameplanned for isn’t enough of a reason to not start, what looks to be, a superior QB that with an electric arm.

I think everyone here is fine with Dungey still getting reps in certain packages/situations. It’s not like we start TD and ED is disqualified for the game.

I saw a live arm for sure. A superior QB, in my humble opinion, right now that’s a stretch.

Potential most definitely.

I don't think I said anything like that. I just wanted to point out that no one has game planned for TD yet.

Here is where I am at with ED. If he is hurt and can't make the throws on a regular basis then sit him to get healthy. If he is 100% and that is what he is putting out on the field then he needs to sit because the player behind him is playing better. It is that simple to me.

I get that TD could get exposed when gameplanned for, but based off what we’ve seen, I have no clue how you can say he’s not a superior QB.
Arm strength doesn’t make a superior QB. He’s less of a runner and less experienced. He was bated into a terrible INT that should’ve been ball game and would’ve been against a better team.

Eric’s accuracy was not great today, but he was two drops and a bad adjustment from Custis from going over 3 bills.

World of potential, and very well could be but is not currently superior at all.

This is a very good point.

However, the difference in velocity / zip is palpable -- and this is coming from the biggest Dungey fan on the board. I think Dungey should continue to start, but have a much shorter leash if he doesn't perform.

I think he got injured against WMU, and the effects have been evident ever since.

Here’s how I see it, factoring in Devitos inevitable rookie mistakes:

Dungey has begun to look like a 2 TD/1 TO type of QB.

Devito looks like a 4 TD/2 TO type of QB.

Let's not overreact.

But clearly, DeVito needs to be given an expanded role. ESPECIALLY if the offense continues to sputter.

C’mon! The kid was brought in with what, 3 minutes left in regulation? And how many snaps did he get last week—you know, just to get in the rhythm of things? Give the kid some credit!

Game planning for DeVito might actually open up some things in other areas like the run game. Maybe, and I love Dungey as a warrior but he’s a liability IMO at this stage of the season. Glad I’m not making the decisions but Babers is as the HC. Put Dungey in certain wildcat packages.

I want to be clear, I’m not 100% sure what I would do without being there everyday.

My instinct would be to short lease Dungey. He might come out smokin this week with a fire under his arse.

I didn’t think he played as terrible today as most. The fumbles were bad, outside of that, they both missed balls.

With TD, we’re going to have to lean on the run, because teams are going to take away the pass. I’d imagine they’d go 2 high and try to create pressure and confuse through a variety of ways.

It will change how we run our offense.

Now he can fire the ball into tight windows, so that’s a plus, bc he’ll have to.

I think this is a very good problem to have... I mean we’ve got 2 qb’s who can move the ball.

I’m interested to see how the week plays out.

Unc is a bad team, possible bottom 5 p5, we got at home.

We run a million plays in a QB friendly offense and don’t play too many great defenses. Our QBs should be putting up serious numbers. Maybe 4 TD’s is a gaudy number, but what I’m trying to illustrate is that I’ll take the high risk along with the high reward. A couple picks is ok if we’re scoring.

TD had 3 series in regulation (I am not counting the hail Mary series because it was one play and the game ended), he scored once. Granted, he recovered very well and scored touchdowns in each of the overtimes. Combined, TD was 3 for 5 in scoring drives.

I and grateful to have TD on the team. I look forward to the team under his leadership. However, he is not perfect and the staff will decide whether to play him or play ED. I would not be surprised to see the staff move to a two-QB system.
