- I'd imagine no SU player was more relived to get the win than was Mo Neal. That play provided a flashback of Dee Brown's goal-line fumble vs NC State
- The announcers thought that one of the 1st half sacks of Dungy could easily have been called targeting. There was no helmet-to-helmet contact, but the NC player clearly lowered his head to initiate contact. Afterwrds, Dungey was clearly dazed. I was surprised there wasn't at least a review.
- Not only was inserting DeVito a gutsy call, but his fist snap was a bomb to Custis. I guess that's having confidence in your R-Fr QB.
- In his presser, Babers remarked that SU's ST unit may have been out-played. I would disagree. Yes, Szmyt missed a 44 yd FG, but later atoned.by nailing a 46 yarder.
- Going into OT, when we lost the coin toss (which did not go smoothly), why did we pick the side of the field right in front of the UNC fan section?

Ummm...punt return TD kind of tips the balance
On the other hand, our ST play nearly lead to a TD (on the drive where Neal fumbled at the goal line), which started with a booming Hofrichter punt, a great open-field tackle by Cullen in coverage, and few plays later a fumble recovery by SU deep in UNC territory.

It was probably even. Their kicker missed some FG's and then punter had the 10 yard punt but overall their unit played but than ours IMO. They had some decent runs besides the TD return and their coverage unit was down the field and covering all their gaps the whole game.

SU's played better at crunch time. Both had their good and bad moments, like that punt the UNC guy had halfway up the frontrow stands, I don't recall ever seeing a ball go that far in on a shank.

Was at the game. Why did it seem like there were 2 coin flips for overtime?

The ref explained the second part and then flipped the coin without asking the UNC kids heads or tails

Then asked heads or tails. He asked UNC which end they wanted first and then flipped the coin. It was kind of funny actually.

I thought it was hilarious. 2nd funniest thing of the day.

First was the UNC sideways punt. Crowd erupted in laughter.

we choose the student section over 1-200 unc fans

By the time the game ended there were more UNC fans than students left. It's amazing they don't show up until the 2nd quarter, but then are cleared out halfway through the 3rd quarter.

I also selfishly wanted them down towards my seats in the opposite endzone

Syracuse used to always pick the town side of the dome for OT. Always louder than student side...
This kinda made me mad. The student section was ok but the other side of the field was light and the unc fans were at that end... the parents section is at the other end of the field and there was a ton of fans down there... shoulda went to the other endzone when getting the choice
