RIP NYCSUGRAD

This is very sad news. Andrea was a passionate participant on syracusefan.com since its beginning. In the early days, she was a very enthusiastic member of chat rooms for basketball games. When I saw her in Maui, it was clear she had mobility issues, but she was a real trouper in going to all the events and games. She truly loved SU. RIP, Andrea.

As MSorange said She bleed Orange. Another Hunter Sister knitted us an Otto mojo doll. I married into Orange Nation, Andrea showed me the ropes, drilled me on the stats to help me with Crusty constant surprise quizs. 5 yrs of all-girl education, Hunter girls are not a bunch to hide their opinions lol

Very sad to hear.

Going through her posts I saw her complaining about the Mets still keeping Reyes on the team...in April. Seems like she knew her stuff!
She loved the Mets

Very sad news. I enjoyed reading her thoughts on topics related to the basketball team and had noticed she had not posted in a while. I knew she was struggling with some health issues, but only knew what she had chosen to reveal on the board. It is a sad day for the Syracusefan.com family. RIP Andrea.

Wow. I’ve “known” her since she joined our community many many years ago and met her a few times in NYC during big east tourney days. Think she even came to the Blarney one year to meet a bunch of us.

She was a funny and unique lady. RIP Andrea and condolences to her family and friends.

You are probably right about Blarney Stone. Crusty and I met up with her there. True Orange. Travelled to SU for games, blizzards be damned

I believe this was one of Andreas favorite photos. She always talked about it and posted it a couple times. She used another photo of her with President Obama at a lunch as her avatar.

You won a contest, entry was a donation. She made just 1 and couldn't believe she won.

I didn’t know Andrea very well but we chatted from time to time. I knew she had health issues but she was discreet with me and tried to be upbeat. She loved the Orange. And I believe she would love these tributes and hope that wherever she is in this great universe, she can know our thoughts.

Lovely, I agree

PS: A little-known Andrea story. In the early 2000s, the board had its first golf outing ... in support of BocaDougs GOALS Foundation. Andrea wanted to play. She sent me a message saying she had once played miniature golf ... and she wondered whether that was enough experience. I gently told her that it probably was not sufficient.
As Joyce says, she went way back through the history of various boards that our nutty little community has occupied--originally as AndreaCG, I think--and she always had a special place in her heart for the hoops team, with a passion and charming willingness to stick by her opinions even in the face of pretty vocal disagreement. In message board terms, I think one of the kindest things I can say is that she had a knack for adding to the conversation, and our group's enjoyment of the forum.

Gone too soon, for sure. Very sorry to see this news. RIP, Andrea.
