That article came off pretty strong, sounds like they are going to hit some of these schools pretty hard this summer. Its going to be very interesting to watch this play out.

Based on all the publicity from the FBI indictments and the backlash to the UNC slap on the wrist I suspect them to level some major charges. You don't wan't to be one of those schools right now, someone is going to be made an example of.

At least six college basketball programs will be notified of major NCAA violations by this summer

NCAA rules now make head coaches responsible for wrongdoing within their program.

"Those top coaches that were mentioned in the trials where the information shows what was being said was a violation of NCAA rules, yes. They will be all part of these notices of allegations," Wilcox said.

The NCAA had held off on investigations, he said, at the request of the government until the trials were concluded.

"So now that's it over, we're going to be moving forward with a number of Level I cases that will help people realize that, 'Yeah, the enforcement staff was in a position to move forward,'" Wilcox said.

It is rare for any NCAA official to speak publicly about ongoing investigations. In fact, it is against protocol for officials to speak about a specific ongoing case.

In may be with such proclamations, the NCAA is sending a message that it is serious regarding what is arguably the worst cheating scandal in enforcement history.

The NCAA did change its rules allowing it take information from a trial and apply it to ongoing investigations. Previously, NCAA investigators had to develop information for themselves that had been revealed in court or by media accounts.

We already were the example.

Assistant coaches were arrested from Auburn, Arizona, USC and Oklahoma State. I would think they have to be included. Who are the other two?

I would think LSU, Louisville and Kansas would all also be on the list. They will probably skip Kansas because they are too big a name.

You can cross off 4 of the top 5 automatically. Those schools bring to much money to the NCAA coffers in basketball.

Q: How much less will the NCAA get from CBS if those 4 are put on a 3-year tournament ban?

A: They'll get whatever amount is specified in the contract with CBS because it runs through 2024.

They don't care about any sport's regular season TV money because they get $0.00 from any sport's regular season in any Division.

It's not going to be Duke, UK or UNC. That is about all I'm certain of.

I'm skeptical anything earth shattering will happen. If academic integrity isn't a major NCAA issue then no way some $ being exchanged is a major issue
This right here^^^
Until it’s proven otherwise, the NCAA are a bunch of feckless bureaucrats, too indebted to the system to ever do something meaningful. Nothing they’ve ever said or done has indicated they’ll stop being the amoral hypocrites they’ve always been.
They’ll always pick on the little guy first, it’s how they roll. JMHO

Creighton should be on that list. Their assistant was all over those wiretaps and all kinds of shady, and they’re punching way above their weight class.
LSU and Arizona should get nailed considering the public evidence against them. Both should really get the death penalty. I wish the FBI was sharing more of their investigatory materials and conclusions with the NCAA. The NCAA also needs subpoena power to really be a proper enforcement body.

They are much more likely to go after private schools. If they play with big state schools, the state legislatures can cause havoc that the NCAA doesn't want to deal with. I will also be surprised if they mess with the SEC, that gets too close to their great cash cow --SEC football.

What's going to happen with all those Arizona recruits? Or any of the other schools. I know we have a scholarship up our sleeve. Might get interesting
SU wants nothing to do with kids that were part of a FBI or NCAA investigation. Innocent of any wrong doing or not. Can not imagine the headline "SU a school that twice had major NCAA sanctions, today signed XYZ who was part of an FBI investigaton in college sports." Nothing said after that can erase the picture it puts in the minds of the parents of prospective recruits.

Over/under on any schools getting hit as hard as Cuse did?

I'll go over on UL because they're on double secret probation and under on everyone else. Maybe a push for Arizona.

What picture, do you mean?

I'm pretty sure Creighton, Xavier and Seton Hall can kiss their azz good-bye. That basketball P6 narrative was really beginning to rankle.

How? How can the Arizona legislature (which also has Arizona State U people in it) make life miserable for the NCAA to begin with, and how can they do it when the FBI turned over wiretaps that have Sean Miler talking about money? They'd have to sue in Federal court. Do they want to have reporters there taking down every word the state utters in defense of Miller and broadcasting it natinally?

The Jerry Tarkanian rule: if there’s solid evidence against somebody like UNC, Cleveland State better watch out.

The NCAA has no choice this time. This is all about them. I believe that they realize that if they dont come down hard they risk becoming irrelevant. The NC case was and still is very damaging for them. If in the wake of an FBI investigation that resulted in convictions and as importantly irrefutable evidence of significant violations they dont take a hard stance they will have basically surrendered any ability to police their own rules. In short they would be committing professional suicide. They are going to hammer some schools.
