Goodine...

He shows flashes of elite athleticism moving with the ball along the baseline towArds the rim.

If we maintain most of our pieces, next years team could be scary.

Hell, keep getting him 3-4 minutes a game and it’ll only make us tougher in February/March

The first half of the season the game was clearly going too fast for him which caused him to play very tentatively. Game seems to have slowed down a bit and for him. His size and athleticism on the perimeter will be a problem and he seems to have the knack for the ball finding him on offensive rebounds as it did twice last night. He still doesn’t seem too comfortable with the ball in his hands or want to make aggressive moves to the hoop but his three pointer was pure. Hopefully he can spell Girard, whom I think is running into the freshman wall.

Thought for the first time he looked comfortable. He’s got the athleticism. His shooting motion is noticeably slower than our 3 best (Buddy, Hughes, JG) - but it’s solid enough to make open shots at a good clip.

Right now Goodine is more of an undersized wing than anything. But with that role and his athleticism he can be valuable when needed. Add that to if he can translate his ability to shoot to in game like last night and he provides some valuable emergency depth. The rebounding as a guard is huge. Joe was great with this too last night

Why do we do this to ourselves? Elijah is not coming back. This is not Clemson football. We don't have bags hiding in lockers and lady friends waiting in the dorm room.

As Cuse fans it was looking like a dark tunnel a few weeks ago. At least there is a little light to latch onto. There is no harm.

Brunson came back for Nova, if we don’t make a march run perhaps Elijah decides he could benefit from another year to generate more hype.

Less than unlikely but not true to say its impossible.

He’d have NPOY potential next year.

He won't have NPOY potential. He needs to be on a top 15 team to get that kind of publicity.

Listen I hear ya - other teams find a way to get their players to stay. For some reason, it just doesn't happen here.

If we finish with above 20 wins and he returns along with Carey staying in Cuse we will be a top 15 team at this rate

I say this as a possibility because Elijah, inexplicably, has not received a crumb of the draft hype that tyus and oshae did.

Not true, Elijah is showing in the second round in at least some mocks. As much or more hype than Oshae or ty received. He has a better more well rounded game as compared to them.

Tyus and Oshae entered 2018 each projected in the first round I’m fairly sure

Top 15 or get paid 6 figures someplace. Hmm, tough decision.

I don’t know why some posters act like its unheard of for a draft prospect to return. we’ve seen throughout college basketball numerous guys choose to return to work themselves into the first round. It depends on off season feedback and their own personal situation.

In this case, Eli has pretty much maxed out his ability. He made a big improvement this year, but there's not much more he can do to sell himself. The guys that came back were told they had a chance to improve their draft stock if they worked on a few things.

Maybe gbo can lend Etienne for the weekend and have him talk to Eli.

not sure how you can claim he’s maxed out his ability when 10 year nba vets can improve their games .. I recall Jason Kidd all of a sudden being able to shoot 3’s well into his nba career

This is such a fallacious and absurd argument. 22 or 23 year olds kids have not “maxed out” their abilities. Come on. Finished products?

Loved his cameo. He is starting to look comfortable out there. Would like to see his role expanded and get Buddy and Joe a bit more rest.
I’m a big Goodine fan. He’s a good defender, has a nice jump shot, and has shown the ability to drive. It’s good to see him starting to get more comfortable out there. As a sub, you have to get in there and make something happen in your limited minutes.
