2020 PGA Tour...

The best round in the afternoon belongs to the unheralded Tyler Duncan at -2 thru 11.

Only player under par in the afternoon group is morikawa with a -2 right now.

I think we are mostly in agreement.

I had not seen any of the afternoon groups when I wrote that, but I would have said the same thing if Dustin had shot 64. I will also say the same thing if he wins the tournament; I just won't say it out loud.

I'm going to look into investing into Draftking.

Anyone at 7-1 is a bad bet in the current PGA.
But as my pick to win (odds excluded) you can't say its terrible. He is playing great, including the tough event at Olympia Fields a few weeks back, and has strong US Open Pedigree.

Of course it's easy to say a pick is terrible after the player has nearly completed his first round, instead of before it.

and now there were none

Wind does seem to be quieting down a bit -- might be enough to stop those at +8 from getting in.

Looks like it’s gonna be +6

2 biggest villains in golf in the final group. Pretty interesting.

You think Bryson is in that category? I think he's a bit of a goof and he did have that incident with the cameraman, but I personally wouldn't put him up with Reed yet. Now Reed I agree. I don't care for that guy at all.

Dechambeau had a few fairly egregious attempts to try get the rules to work in his favour earlier this summer -- at Memorial (Fence / out of bounds) and the one tournament where he was going to be attacked via ant hills and wanted relief.

Overall not a stellar year for him rep wise.

Bryson is in second place in the villain category by default. As jncuse said he’s had quite a few goofy/douchey moments. He’s a social pariah but an amazing talent and fun to watch regardless.

Good call. I remember those now.

Absolutely. Golf needs characters like Patrick Reed and Bryson Dechambeau to keep it interesting. Hopefully though its not them 1 on 1 on Sunday.

I usually like the heel. Vijay is my favorite golfer of all time but these two don't gel with me. I bet neither wins.

can reed really get away with so many bad shots for 72 holes? bryson decided tons of birdies and bogies is the way to attack the course.. only takes a couple of those bad shots to turn into doubles.

Agreed 100%. Not sure who I want to win at this point yet but hope it's a packed leaderboard.

Any player that made the cut and shoots 70 will at least have a chance going into Sunday.

They're not my favorites, but I don't really dislike either. BDC's annoying because he plays slow on the course. Reed when he's on is fun to watch. They're just really different. But what do I know? I thought Kuchar was a good guy but apparently there are some here who have said he's not really.

I'm just glad I don't have to watch Tiger and Phil, Phil and Tiger, Tiger and Phil, Phil and Tiger ...

Very rough start for Bryson.

Alex Noren starts right on the cutline and finishes with a -3 (67). Has climbed to 19, and will probably be in the top 10 by the end of the day.

Other guys who are under par well into their round and playing themselves into contention on Sunday if they can complete these rounds under par.
Zach Johnson -2 after 11
Rory -1 after 10
Detry -1 after 10
Zalatoris -1 after 11

Brutal start by Dechambeau. I assume he didn't calculate a wedge and 3 putt on the first hole. Perhaps there was vicious anthills on the green?

With no wind the course is "relatively" gettable this afternoon. Certainly benefits the leaders who will play in the best conditions today and minimizes great rounds by Noren for example.

Patrick Reed making like Tom Petty right now.
