Call plays? I'm legitimately asking because I have not really seen a "play" run by this offense this entire 2nd half.

Most of the offense has consisted of shooting the ball as soon as it gets near the 3 point line when its brought up the court, or "hero ball" when after getting it passed half court, the ball is passed once and the guy who received it just tries to beat his guy.

BTW, Swider needs to ride the pine the rest of this game. The only positive play I've seen him make other than a reckless drive to the rim that got a foul called, was the drive to save the ball from going out of bounds.

Amen! Run an offense please! We play iso /hero ball with no me who can beat their man off the dribble. Makes no sense!
There is no offensive plays this team runs. I've seen us run them before. They literally are not at all today. What is Boeheim thinking on the sidelines?

I literally never see a play called, how can our team expect to win games without a semblence of a strategy on offense other than, let them figure it out on the fly.

Like, I can't be right about this? Like he has to call at least some plays for the team to run right? Am I missing it?

I got so frustrated watching all of the one on one play I turned the tv off like 5 times and yelled. My wife stays in the other room during games god bless her!

I don’t get the reckless drive comment. He recognized he could take his guy, did so, and got clearly fouled by a secondary defender. It was a very good basketball play. He also attacked the boards and got a key putback in the second half.

Plus who are you going to put in if you bench him? Benny? He’s an empty uniform that periodically turns the ball over at this point.

We usually run some flare screens and down screens, but I haven’t seen many the past few games. JB’s offense has always been painfully simple though. It can be extremely frustrating. We always run the same handful of plays, and there’s so little complexity to the offense. His m.o. has always been to keep it simple, but I’ve always thought that’s a mistake. You need some complexity in the offense when you don’t have athletes to overpower opponents.

It's more like, "everybody just go out".
And, Jesse, you stay in and block.

But what's so new?
Boeheim the eldest has always run few plays.
Running none is not that great a divergence.
Although that double screen curl for the shooting guard is one that historically seems to have worked well for the Orange.

I hated the 1 on 1 play late until I didn’t. It was definitely the right move to iso Buddy against that freshman backup guard in OT and it payed off.
