couldn't watch the game since I don't have the right TV package so I had to listen to the radio. I heard some LGO chants. I heard the arena was small - like 3,500 capacity. What was the crowd breakdown?
I was a little bummed about the AC Milan Yanks were knocked out of the UCL. But then our PSV Yanks played so well and advanced.
Edit: Our Fulham Yanks balled out against Liverpool at Anfield. Ream looked like he was about to go 1-on-1 with Salah a couple of times but played calm-as-you-like...
I saw a rumor of Tanner Tessman to Lazio. Of course it's crazy season before the transfer window closes.
https://sbisoccer.com/2023/08/report-tanner-tessmann-on-lazios-radar-for-summer-transfer
he played his senior year for Harvard. Only made 8 appearances. Scored 13 points for 1.6 ppg. 50% FT shooter. They must have needed a 6'8" body for practice.
Ian McIntyre on being asked if he ever imagined winning the National Championship:
"We've got too many English guys involved in the coaching staff. So we never win a penalty shootout."
So I'm (re)watching an old action film, Dark Angel, which used to be called "I Come In Peace" when I first saw it around 1990. Starring Dolph Lundgren. I notice Jay Bilas' name in the credits. Surely, it cant be the same Jay Bilas as the basketball guy... and it was him!
He plays an alien...
*I was very impressed with LDT. Has a lot more "bite" on D than I was led to believe.
*Acosta was playing like he did in the Gold Cup last summer. He had a great game.
*Sam Vines kept getting call ups when he was in MLS. Now that he's in Belgium he's not... interesting. Is there an MLS quota?
Florida St turned it over out-of-bounds with 19:19 left on the clock. The shot clock timer went off at 18:58. The shot clock started with only 20 seconds.
Wish I had the know how to rip the video and post it to twitter and youtube.
James Sands has been called in. It makes sense since he >can< play both CB or DM. I really hope Gregg goes for it in Jamaica and doesn't try to tinker too much.
My predicted lineup for Jamaica
Aaronson - Pepi - Weah
Musah - Adams - Busio
Jedi - Richards - Zimmerman - Scally?
Steffen...
ESPN (and only ESPN) seemed to talk about how Mexico was the better team in the first half. That the US was lucky not to be down a goal. That's BS. The US dominated in midfield, won most of the duels and had a higher xG. Mexico had <1 xG for the whole game.
going forward maybe try hesgoal.com
I know they have NBA games... not sure about college.
Also lets me watch Euro soccer matches - sure the announcer may be speaking Arabic...
predicted lineups?
Aaronson - Pepe - Weah
Musah - Adams - McKennie
Robinson - Robinson - Zimmerman? Scally?
Stefen
I could see Chris Richards instead of Zimmerman but I think Zimmerman would be better for set pieces which is where the USA tends to beat El Tri
I can also see Reggie...
Brooks played bad, I agree. Also had some poor games with Wolfsburg. But then apply that same criteria to other players.
I don't know what's happened to Lleget over the past year or so. When he first was getting callups he would come in as a high energy sub. I've heard stories about him...
No Brooks, No De La Torre, no Dest (who picked up a minor injury but could play)
Is it based on club form? On recent NT form? Then how does one explain Accosta and LLeget? Accosta hasn't played the 2 most recent games for his MLS club. Lleget can't even start for LA Galaxy. Both were much...
17 y.o. Kevin Paredes assist for DC United vs New England. Looks like an eventual option for right back.
I hope he moves to Europe (Salzburg or Dortmund)
GGG reminds me of Gian Ventura of Italy. He failed to get Italy into the WC18. He talked about how he deserved to keep his job. He only lost 2 games (ended up with 3). They came in 2nd in their group to Spain. They went to the playoffs against Sweden and lost. While losing, he tried to sub...
