Ummm…. There have been more than 100 new D1 basketball schools added since the tournament expanded to 64 teams. Statistically speaking from a % participant standpoint, going to 96 teams now would be THE EXACT SAME ACHIEVEMENT as making the field in 1985.

This is 100% inaccurate. There are plenty of professions where you get non-compete contracts either when you sign or if you leave. My wife has a 2-year non-compete if she leaves her job.

Judah’s effectiveness (and the game outcome) is pretty much directly proportional to the refs’ willingness to call fouls when he flops. Yesterday he got no foul calls on his flops, so we lost. Pretty simple.

Copeland was really bad for 30 minutes. I texted STEVEHOLT and told him "we can't win when Copeland is in {expletive deleted} mode." Q literally turned it around almost immediately after I sent the text.

You got the "on the basketball floor" part right, because he throws himself on the court about a dozen times a game flopping for a foul.

A key parallel between Cuse hoops and Dolphins football - both teams are really good at beating teams that are not as good as they are, and neither has any chance against any team that is even remotely better.

Close game for 30 minutes then UNC figures out how to stop turning the ball over against our havoc, then lose by 15+.

Copeland is certainly the closest thing to a PG that this team has. Judah does almost nothing to set up anyone other than himself. Copeland at least seems to understand and see that there are four other humans on the court wearing the same uniforms as he is within the same space/time continuum.

One of the crazy things with Starling is that he looks like he decelerates every time he drives. He can get by his primary defender like 85% of the time (very good!) but then it looks like he can’t maintain speed and ends up slowing down and dribbling right into a double team (very bad!) leading...

Not many times I’ve seen a guard on the floor for that many minutes play THAT bad.

Happy with Taylor’s rebounding; he’s much tougher than I thought last year. The shot mechanics- hate the placement of his left hand all the way on top of the ball. Slows the release and honestly I think the ends up more as a push with weird follow through.

Starting backcourt is basically Mintz and a crummier version of Mintz. Total redundancy.

First half we looked like Boeheim was coaching. Looked exactly like how the team played against Colgate the last 2 years. Fortunately we didn’t just sit in zone and let them hit 8 more threes in the second half.

We learned that it is harder for Colgate to get wide open threes if we aren’t playing 40 minutes of zone.

Doubt he could play for McDermott.

Girard is too undisciplined for Pitino; takes too many bad shots. I don’t see it unless he is willing to subjugate his game, which I see no evidence of. Could see him going to somewhere like Sienna where he has even more free reign to shoot a gazillion times a game.
