    6 sweet 16s last 10 years

Kansas didn't make it in 2010 (N Iowa in round of 32), 2014 (Stanford, round of 32), 2015 (WSU, round of 32)... I guess they have 7 as well

Syracuse's NCAA Tournament Resume vs Other Bubble Teams Not saying we will get in, I think it's 50 / 50. But if you look at our actual resume versus the rest of the bubble we compare pretty well.

    Cuse vs Louisville Resume

Resumes are nearly identical. We have worse losses (@Wake, @GT). We seem to have slightly better wins. We have a better SOS. They have a lightly better RPI (39 vs 44). We won head to head.

Thursday 3/8 Rooting Guide (I'm not giving up yet!)

Watching this UVa / UL Game... UVa is really, really good. Can easily see them winning a National Title this year. Being down by 10 to them is like being down by 20+ to any other team. Makes the E8 comeback even more amazing. Right now UL is playing right into their hands though...

    “Quality Wins”

My opinion... Louisville: @FSU VT @ND @VT You could maybe include Indiana and Memphis at home... Notre Dame: Wichita State NCSU @SU FSU You could maybe include @BC, BC, LSU I honestly like our wins better (trying not to be biased). Stinks we let NCSU, @FSU, ND, etc get away. Those were...

Cross Country NCAA Championship [Louisville, KY]: Sat Nov 18, 9:00 / 10:00

I have loved following the team this year. Unfortunately I don't think that we have quite enough to beat BYU and Northern Arizona. My pick is 3rd. I think we edge out a great Stanford team and are on the podium for the 3rd straight year. Also I think Justyn Knight finally gets his long overdue...

    Syracuse NCAA Tournament Memories Thread

Thanks all for contributing. I intended for people to post their favorite Syracuse memories from each round as it happens but I appreciate the memories none the less. Since I will likely not be around this weekend (and thus unable to contribute during the 2nd round) as it happens, here are my 2...

    Syracuse NCAA Tournament Memories Thread

Like everyone who frequents this board, I am a huge Syracuse fan (duh). Like many, I don't think I will be able to enjoy the tournament all that much without the Orange present. However, I have been a fan of the program for almost all of my life (born in 1987) and have many positive (and a few...

Class of 2018 SG Robby Carmody (PA) to Notre Dame

I watched him play at the WPIAL Playoffs last night at North Allegheny HS (Mars vs Hampton). Carmody's team (Mars) was upset in a very tight game (61-59). Some thoughts (from a non-expert): -He has a very quick release on his jumper -He reminded me a lot of Trevor Cooney (quick release, similar...

    Impressed by our Fans

Went to the Pitt game Saturday. I don't know what it looked like on TV but there was a lot of Orange in the stands (especially in the second level). I did not expect to see that many Syracuse fans there. I told my 4 year old son (who is 4 and was attending his first game) before the game that...

    RIP Fab Melo.

I am taking this loss hard and it has been on my mind a lot since I heard the news Saturday night. I have been a Syracuse fan my whole life (growing up in Western NY) but I didn't truly start following all aspects of the program (including recruiting) until 2009 / 2010. Fab Melo was one if the...

Virginia Has Never Lost After Leading By Ten @ The Half

Virginia is only like Pitt in the regard that they like to play a slow methodical style. Virginia plays great defense but they never played "dirty" in my observation. Pitt's mentality over the past 15 years (under Dixon) has been to dictate the physicality (i.e. make things so physical that the...

What's the worst loss in your time as an SU fan?

I will separate my response into tournament games and non-tournament games. I was born in 87 and have been a fan since 1995 or so. Tournament Games: 1. Butler (I am still not over this game) 2. Complaining about an ugly win over Georgia Tech...

After reading the threads I understand why people are upset. We played poorly, could have lost, and demonstrated a lot of room for improvement in key areas. Here are a few things that should be considered: 1. People say Georgia Tech is bad, but how many teams in the ACC are better? Excluding...

XC NCAA Northeast Regional 11/14/14 Noon

A lot of times it takes freshmen some time to transition into college XC. Most "elite" high school runners run between 60-70 miles per week, but college is a different ball game. Most competitive runners will run at least 90-100 mpw which represents a pretty big jump. In the past NCAA Champions...

Outside of Colorado and Oregon I would take them against anyone. No one is beating Colorado this year unfortunatly. There is a small chance we could upset Oregon if some of their key guys have an off day. Iona, Oklahoma State, Stanford, and NAU coule also be right there, but I think we are...

Which would you consider more successful over a ten year span?

I want option 2. Basketball is a game of probability, espeicailly in a 1 and done tournament. Option 2 has a program that is built for present and long term success. Most of the ACC - yes Specifically, UNC - yes (although I am happy for PC and wouldn't be upset if they won a few either) NC State - yes UVA - yes Duke - questionable (although I have like Coach K a lot more this year) Pitt - No I obviously only really care about one team though.

Both of yours are great selections and will be hard to top. I'll throw out a couple of different ones. Lunardi's latest Bruacamole

I wouldn't be thrilled to see UConn in the second round. They know our zone, and have several players who shoot the 3 well (although they are streaky). Also, with Grant limited our advantage against them in the front court would be marginalized a little.

Paths this team could take from here

Our team this year reminds me of several other different teams I have seen in the last decade + (some good and some bad). Perspective

Why we lost 1. We could not shoot. BC is terrible on defense and we got any look we wanted. We made what felt like less than 5 jump shots yesterday. We missed a bunch of bunnies as well. If the shooting returns to what is was a month ago we will be fine. 2. BC shot great. Our defense wasn't...
