Someone smarter than me may be able to explain why we abandoned the original concept. Particularly why we could never recruit to the scheme. One can only wonder what that offense and the 3-3-5 would have produced. Was it simply the lack of elite recruiters?

Counting ND and SMU we would have 5 this year. Personally, I think the ACC is getting better.

I think we are a bit further away than that. The ACC is getting better, especially with the addition of SMU. Most importantly, we will need a few years of better classes than our peers. We are well behind at least half the league so we need time to make up lost ground. Getting ranked next year...
