ESPN counting down top 50 programs of the past 50 years

lol that's getting called out? Good thing for me I'm not all that sensitive and don't let internet forum discussions get me mad. You took my post at it's word and not for what it was meant to be-- it happens. And I don't consider that particular team making the Sweet 16 a success, so I guess...

If you say so. My point still stands.

ESPN counting down top 50 programs of the past 50 years

I guess you didn't take sarcasm in high school. I don't consider the Sweet 16 with that roster a success. Therefor my point stands--we didn't win anything w/o Melo.

Ryan Nassib's Place among all time Cuse QB's ?

At first read, I scoffed at this. Then I started to think of the QB's we've had since DM. Yikes. I'm not too high on RN, I don't care what his overall numbers look like, I base that on what I see on the field--granted it's not all his fault (lack of skill position players/coaching/etc..) but...

ESPN counting down top 50 programs of the past 50 years

Anybody that doesn't include the Pearl as one of our top 8 most important/best players of the last 50 years should forfeit his/her right to watch basketball. I love you Gerry, but stop it.

ESPN counting down top 50 programs of the past 50 years

You seriously underestimate just how good he was, and his impact on the Syracuse program. Directly responsible for what? I'm not trying to downplay his achievements, especially in '03--but you take Melo off that team and we might not win the Carrier Classic, let alone the national title.

http://collegebasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/08/18/seton-hall-commit-aquille-carr-arrested-by-baltimore-police-on-warrant-for-assault/ Maybe not really a target, but someone the board discussed quite a bit.

The more I read and see of Ennis

the more excited I am to have him. Not a freak athlete, but the kid just gets the game of basketball. He'll be surrounded by scorers and will be allowed to do what he does best. Huge get IMO. You would think/hope this could start a domino effect in regards to the other kids we're going...

    What I'd love to see

No doubt, but unfortunately that ship has sailed. Might as well go out with our chests sticking out.

    What I'd love to see

Aside from a national championship of course... We play Gtown in the BEAST tourney final, obviously we win, and DC runs from the stands to grab the mic and announce that the Big East is officially closed. Lights go out.

    Rudy Fernandez: World's Best Flopper

I'd love to see him get his ass kicked after the game. The spaniard with the beard is putting on his best Steve Nash impersonation. US better get tougher.

What type of offense would you most like to see the Orange run, ideally

Most consider it ugly and boring, but I love watching how Bama and LSU for example play. Run the ball, use it to set up the pass and play monster D. That said, I think we need to open things up and get some excitment back into the program. In a perfect world, we would run something similar...
  21. orange03

    It's the Offense, stupid!

Agree. At some point I hope we can get away from the tight end drag and open things up a bit. Obviously we don't have the playmakers on the outside like most of the elite teams do, but Hacket and/or Doug need to add some snap to the offense.

    Jerami Grant Growth Spurt?

Agree x10. Stop comparing Grant to Wallace so you can avoid getting upset with Grant's play, especially early. Not even close to his ability.
  24. orange03

    Jerami Grant Growth Spurt?

A star in the John Wallace or Hak mold? I just don't see it. I think he can be an impact player, but not that alpha dog type guy. While I hope I'm wrong, there's nothing wrong with him developing into the role player type that the last few, and very successful teams have had.
  25. orange03

    Jerami Grant Growth Spurt?

I obviously hope I'm wrong, but I think you have his ceiling way too high. He's a nice prospect, but not nearly as talented as John Wallace was. Not even close. I think he'll end up being a very good rotation player and will definitely help us to win a lot of games. But never the star type...

    OT: You Go Boy

If my son were 15 or so, then yeah I would take it upon myself to exact revenge, but the kid in question was 24 years old. This is on him.
  27. orange03

    OT: You Go Boy

Exactly. My biggest problem with society today is the lack of accountability that people are held to. While I appreciate the sentiment being a father and all, his son is the one who made the decision to do the drug.

Man, Bill Simmons really does not like Syracuse players

Nothing to do with his latest article, but I've found him to be more annoying than entertaining as of late. He comes off more of a dork than he does a serious sports reporter/journalist. His schtick worked in the beginning, not so much now.

What do you think of Dion's pre-draft suit?

He would be great on a contender. Not so much for a lottery team looking to rebuild--just doesn't have the make up to be 'the guy'.

    Something worse than Davis's unibrow

If Calipari really cared about him, he would've spend some of the 200 k it took to get him on a orthodontist. All kidding aside, he seems like a really good kid and while I don't think he'll be as good as some think, I hope he has a nice career.
