The BEST thing to happen for SU is Colgate winning v. PSU. Gate will not sneak up on anyone now. SU is deeper and more talented. The short turn around favors SU in every category (especially given SU's core players only played three quarters and didn't have to travel). I expect SU to win...

Hard disagree. Face offs (while certainly not perfect per the rules) and ground balls are critical components of the game. Always have been. Success in both translates to wins.

Good stuff in there. Mule could be a huge addition as a feeder with quality of finishers we will have (Spallina/Hiltz/Finn/Birtwistle/Deere), not to mention shooters from midfield.

To clarify my "Disappointing" post... I'll admit I'm not familiar with Oderina. I've never watched Manhattan play and I don't know much about his background. I would imagine that applies to virtually every poster on this board save a few. The fact that he has been a head coach is positive...

And unlike Gary Gait...who is an icon with a successful equipment brand that bears his name...no kids today remember Pat McCabe (unless they have parents who played in a prior generation). How can he be expected to recruit at the level that will be necessary??

Holy smokes what a disaster. We needed a guy to come in to not only coach the defense...but help run the program (recruiting) and mend the disappointment of Petro leaving on the current roster. Stevens and Caputo should have been the types of guys to fill that role. McCabe is a total miss.

My guess is Simmons and Kirst will primarily be replaced by transfers. And those transfers ideally will be strong dodgers from either attack or midfield. It is very telling how much a guy like John Cohen flashed last night as someone who could beat his man or create space, as the top 9 we play...

From all accounts and appearances Coach Desko is a fine human being and bleeds Orange. That was sad to watch. Very clear he is not leaving on his own accord. I hope he finds some peace with his family and whatever he chooses to do next.

I was there. Absolute scenes. This highlight video is great but incomplete. The Sid Smith check and the Abbott clear in overtime are just as important as any goal scored. I never thought for a second that this was the final moment of true glory for this program for the foreseeable future.
