    Quadir Copeland in the portal

No, that was our younger siblings in Generation X. They're the ones who ruined education. Edit: Here's my evidence. Baby Boomers grew up in the late 60s and 1970s. The drinking age was 18, pot was abundant, sex didn't kill you, and life was very affordable. Generation X came of age in the...

The one who said it's done is the university. The one who said it's "not quite" done is a spokesman for Gerry's lawyer. It's not done until it's done.

If it was Joseph Katuka that the Twitter post I saw a week or so was talking about, that would look like a good add on paper - defensive player of the year as a 6-11, 247 lb big man at George Washington. From Nigeria, worked for Basketball Without Borders, Nigeria's national team. Connections...

    New Assistant

It seems to me we would like to see Gerry and Griffin move on, if you ask me. I like the AAU guy who got us Donnie, Brendan Straughn, I think it is. I don't see Alan as having done any great job with the big men, honestly. At least we have had a lot of good shooters under Gerry. If we need a...

I'm forgetting right now, but I think it was somebody from LaSalle or a school like that. Four years of double digit scoring, not a great 3 point shooter, not many assists.

    Players Returning Next Year

A couple of the guards I've seen mentioned (the Philly kid, Roddy Gayle) don't really make sense because they duplicate what we got from JJ and Judah - scoring guards, with limited 3 point shooting and no real playmaking ability. In fact, JJ is the better shooter of the 4 of them from three, so...

Class of 2025 QB Luke Carney (TX) COMMITTED TO SYRACUSE (3/25/25)

This is a remarkable "get", and is the lit fuze for the rest of this class. Get an elite QB on board early, and then watch them line up to play with him. We are already roughly in the Top 30 for the Class of 2025.

SU 64 vs UConn 72: Mon Mar 25, 6 PM [NCAA 2nd Rd]

It's always tough to lose in the tournament. But those young women played a terrific game. UConn hadn't lost at home in 30 years (!!!), and has made 30 straight Sweet 16's (!!!!). They had a 1 possession game with a minute to play. They played really good basketball, and it was a fun, quality...

Yes, one more thing I would add, Pete, is that I hope he settles on the roster & the main 14 or 15 guys, and plays them more. The time to cycle through the whole damn player pool is over. We know who our guys are, and they all seem to be getting better. I just want these guys to build more...

    USMNT 2024

Yes, I agree. Watching these 2 games felt like the first time we've really seen the whole team together, and the right guys all played. Now, I think it's pretty clear that Gio is not best as a deep lying playmaker, and needs to be closer to the opponent's goal. But other than that, it looked...

Slightly OT: compression sleeves and leggings

The sleeves that some of them wear are padded, so those might not be for compression. I'm starting to see soccer players wearing shorts beneath their uniforms with padding on the thighs, tailbone or glutes for impact and falls (and getting kneed by the defender). These padded sleeves are not...

Slightly OT: compression sleeves and leggings

I wear compression socks for my foot neuropathy, and have worn them for arm, knee and ankle pain from time to time. They do work. They improve circulation to the area, which aids in oxygen transport (avoiding lactic acid build-up), and the pressure triggers nerves and muscles to fire, which...

    USMNT 2024

That second goal for Mexico at the end of their first half against Panama was pure BS. As Charlie kept saying, "the call on the field was offside, that wasn't convincing enough evidence to overturn it." When they showed the 'official line", it was crooked as hell. Gift goal.

    USMNT 2024

Terrific 2nd half. Reyna was the key player. It's hard to understand why he isn't finding game time at some club. He sees a pass unlike anyone else on our team. Defensively, I think Matt Turner losing the starting job at Nottingham has hurt his confidence. He should have saved that goal in...

Our crying need. A true center!

Yes, but if we could get a legit PG, it could make a square peg or two fit better. I'm not thrilled that the first couple guards I've heard us mentioned with were combo guards who were primarily scorers, not assist men.

The Devo & Kris Jo Show

Yes, he kind of implied that Copeland would get all emotional about being yelled at by the coach. Devo was basically saying, you shouldn't be impulsive. You're giving up being a part of the Cuse family after graduation. Said, I never would have had a chance to come back and build my career...

Our crying need. A true center!

Friendly reminder - guys like Rafael Addison, Dave Johnson, Jason Cipolla, Marius Janulis and Stevie Thompson all played time as shooting guard for us. We even tried Stevie at point. I don't think any of those guys had a decent handle at all, certainly not good enough for a guard. But if you...

    GMAC to Siena

If he's been paid as much money as they say, shouldn't he have enough savings to tolerate a down couple years, in order to get a chance at a much bigger payday? Sometimes people move to a smaller city and take a pay cut to get ahead in their career.

Or Iona, Lehigh, Manhattan, St. Peter's, Fairfield, Monmouth, Canisius, Bucknell, Holy Cross or Loyola Maryland. That's the level of school he can get a good look from. The ones who are doing well aren't looking to replace their coaches. Most of these are Metro NYC, PA or NY. That's his home...

    GMAC to Siena

The question is if he wants to be a head coach. Because head coaches make way more than assistants. All it will take is doing a good job at the first place, and then he can get a big salary bump at his second job.

Our crying need. A true center!

Well, if the C is good enough, Freeman can probably come off the bench as a frosh, as long as he gets his 25 minutes. Neither he nor Maliq want to guard the post for more than a few minutes a game. Guys are going to have to rotate.

Class of 2024 PF Donnie Freeman (MD / IMG) COMMITTED & SIGNED TO SYRACUSE (5/11/23)

I agree that Bell's not a guard, certainly not for more than about 5 minutes a game, if we wanted to play a "jumbo" lineup, but still have some 3 point threat. I agree that Starling is not a point guard. But Starling is a pretty decent secondary ball handler, especially against pressure...

Our crying need. A true center!

Of the 4 or 5 people who rotate in the front court, one of the "big 4" is not going to start. Now, we know 2 of the people pretty much for certain - Donnie Freeman and Maliq Brown. If we were to get a big time center, we could sell Donnie, the freshman, with coming off the bench, so long as he...

Class of 2024 PF Donnie Freeman (MD / IMG) COMMITTED & SIGNED TO SYRACUSE (5/11/23)

People like you in your post talk about how you can't play a particular lineup because it will be susceptible to a press, or another said you can't play a certain lineup because it would not be able to defend inside, or you can't play another lineup because it lacks outside shooting. Yes, that...
