If they’re going to play lax in the Dome for the foreseeable future, I wish they would invest in field turf with lacrosse field lines instead of playing on turf with the football lines.

Understandably, the higher the collegiate level you coach at, the higher your pay will be. Some coaches in the most successful programs playing in the ACC, Big Ten or Big East can make up to $100K or even $200K per year depending on experience and number of years they...
It would be more compelling for a school like RIT to move up to D1 considering their pedigree and the amount of high school talent in the Rochester area. But yeah NY has too many D1 teams; they could have their own tournament lol
Defense/goalie play has been and still is the Achilles Heel of SU women’s lacrosse.
I still have faith in Coach Treanor and just chalk it up to her being a rookie head coach. Have to keep in mind she’s still one of the youngest head coaches in the country at 28. Hopefully she’s quickly...
Noooo!! Why are so many of them cursed with season ending injuries? I know female athletes are more prone to lower body injuries, especially ACL related. The physical nature of this sport along with the athletes using quick change of direction highly increases the chance of this happening.
Are...
Looking at a few of the replies to that tweet, most of them are hoping or speculating that it’s Janiah Barker, a top 5 recruit who decommitted from Georgia.
Haven’t watched the game but loving the result. Sounds like the young C’s are stepping up. Caccamo, Cordes, and Corsi. Sad to hear about Cook. That Dordevic shot was ridiculous! So happy that he’s returning next year.
This team has shown huge improvements since the Hopkins game. Maybe that...
My guess is they’re vetting the hell out of all the candidates to prevent another coach Q debacle. If not, I don’t know what the hell is taking so long. All these other schools filling their coaching vacancies so quickly is adding to our frustration.
I agree. I think a big factor working against the women’s team is that SU doesn’t have a D1 men’s hockey team like Colgate and Cornell does. I think if they did the university would commit more resources to the hockey program where both the men and women’s team would benefit. Hopefully the next...
Congratulations to Coach Flanagan.
I was thinking they should go after the Colgate coach Fargo, but just found out he signed a contract extension to 2028. He has a 12-2-1 record against Flanagan. Knight will be a deserving successor.
The silver lining to Hiltz’s injury, barring he doesn’t play this year and redshirts, is that he’ll have 3 years to play alongside Spallina, Thompson, Leo and whoever gets playing time as freshmen from the highly rated incoming class.
Holy crap. Didn’t watch the game but just saw the final score. Saw the game stats and muttered “what the fck” under my breath. My niece heard me and yelled out “ooooh, uncle said the f word…”
Frustrated we all are. Very frustrated.
I agree, stick with Hower for the whole game. Maybe even give Paulson a opportunity in cage. The Sweitzer sisters have not impressed so far. I too would like to see more of Adamson and Parower.
Spallina was also the head coach of the New York Lizards (MLL) from 2012 to 2018 so the dude knows how to coach lacrosse regardless of players gender or age.
Jesse Bernhardt at UMD is a name to look out for as far as defensive coaches. Young coach with prior stints at Rutgers and Princeton. He’ll probably be considered for head coaching opportunities in the near future if the Terps keep performing the way they do.
Wonder if any of his teammates witnessed this incident to cause such a strong reaction/stance from them or this allegation like you said was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
Nooooo!!!! What is going on?!
Cardoso was the one player I (and looks like a few posters on here) didn’t want to see leave. She has the potential to be one of the most dominant players in the country and like jr4750 mentioned, you build your team around.
I was looking forward to seeing her play...
This is awesome news!
Their attack is gonna be stacked next year with Hawryschuk, Tyrrell, Carney, and Ward. I wonder if one of them will be bumped to midfield to make room for #51?
Does Brent not remember the 21-7 debacle back in 2014 down in Durham?
Fortunately after that beat down, they were able to win the next 7 out of 8 games to make the tournament.
Only to lose to Bryant in the first round...
I don’t think that bye week did them any favors. Should’ve scheduled an opponent (cupcake or not) to at least remain sharp cuz they looked rusty as hell in the first half. Ladies have only played 6 games while UNC already has 10 games under their belt and looking at their schedule didn’t notice...
The defense worries me; giving up too many free position shots. Virginia tech managed to only score 1 goal against UNC versus 10 goals against us. Ladies need to tighten up the defense when they play the Tar Heels on Saturday.
Alex Rode didn’t have that bad of a bad game. Dude made 18 stops yet we still scored 20 on him.
Big ups to Phaup. He played a huge role in the win. I just hope he doesn’t get worn down as the season progresses. Maybe give Varello, Savage, and others some reps the upcoming weeks?
The sky’s the...
