    Top ten defense next year

So, we go from borderline wanting a new system, questioning the T2, and almost calling for ward's head to top 10 talk? All in 6 months? The T2 took a huge step last year , but was by no means dominant. D line os good, not great and the lbs are a bit of a ???. Love the talent and skill in the...

Magnitude of This Year's Clemson Game

AMEN, and as much as i LOVE TD . HE isn't plug and play in this offense, as awesome as it is;) ED did things off the stat sheet that many of us will never give him credit for or realize the team impact.
  3. Ish88888

Magnitude of This Year's Clemson Game

Well said pizza. That's why all the top 10 and national championship talk is whacky. Clemson is talented and yes, as well as we have played them, we have caught them with a qb problem the last 2 years. KB being hurt in the dome and then KB leaving the week of our game last year was epic timing...

Magnitude of This Year's Clemson Game

Love you being real about the first 2 games which could be challenging and i believe on a scale of 1-10 with 1 being Wagner in the dome and 10 being at Bama; these games both fall into the same category of super competitive and around a 6. It's gonna be fun!

2-point shootouts? NCAA looks to limit OT football games

Problem is more from a stats perspective and a qb that had 1 td in regulation, having 5 at the end of ot. Its skewed and whacky. it's gimmicky and regular play is a better option with rules going against a tie.

2-point shootouts? NCAA looks to limit OT football games

I think it's time for change in the college OT. too many times games are 21 all and end up 49-48 where the final score in no way reflects what kind of game it really was. Adopting the modern NFL model makes sense. Could be tweeks. Play with no clock .

Class of 2019 QB David Summers (CT) SIGNED NLI TO SYRACUSE 2/6/19

Perfect signing for us. This kid is a stud but still came here ready to compete. the predicted aura of TD didn't scare him away and that is friggin GREAT!:)
  8. Ish88888

    Recruiting Ridiculosity at USC

Yup, good for the kid. These kids should do whatever they can to get out of situations that blow upbin their face. i have always been pro school and that a kid commits to a school and end of story however, in the last few years, these coaches bail and don't give a about these kids ...

    2022 Schedule Change

Agree, in the end, teams are evaluated by the record, their are way more casual fans than involved fans like most of us that will take a deep analysis into SOS.
  10. Ish88888

The New CFB Free Agency look...

Compared to college hoops, the CFB model preserves the name value, what's wrong with holding onto kids for their entire college career for the most part?
  11. Ish88888

Va Tech QB Josh Jackson transferring to Maryland

Not sure why you say that. VT has less question marks than we do going into 2019 and some on this board have us in the T25 and hell, in the national title race;)
  12. Ish88888

    Eric Dungey has an agent...

This seems to be the year for a qb like ED to be coming out. Most shallow qb draft in years.
  13. Ish88888

If we're fortunate enough to host College Gameday next year...

Exactly, and we are supposed to appease the students while real CFB fans around the nation watch and scratch their heads but hey, you can bet many students will be attending their first game since the cameras will be shinning bright;)
  14. Ish88888

If we're fortunate enough to host College Gameday next year...

Agree, to give one of these punky new acts the gig would be laughable.the emergence of alot of these young start ups is for the most part determined by the youth of America. we have been bitchin about for years on this board about the lack of marketing and program exposure; go ahead and make...

If we're fortunate enough to host College Gameday next year...

Post Malone would be the most ridiculous pick to rep cuse in our very rare moment in the sun. It's actually laughable.
  16. Ish88888

    Syracuse Draft Watch 2019

JC showed well, the catch over the middle showing speed and physicality waa awesome and he showed the potential he had at cuse the last 4 years. There were a,few out patterns where he didn't hustle back to the ball after the break and pro scouts take notice.
  17. Ish88888

    Eric Dungey has an agent...

So, who is this guy in levis and banana republic shoes training ED?
  18. Ish88888

    Eric Dungey has an agent...

Great training plan ED trimmed as the year progressed and played better. he was, imo , too bulky earlier in the year to start the season. ED at a true and flexible 220 is a rockstar and will turn some scouts heads.
  19. Ish88888

    ACC Schedule !!!!!

Very good analysis, all 4 teams are VERY capable of beating us, even NCST at at night with a new qb. The FSU talent will be settled in with the new scheme, anx Pitt is always dangerous;)

If we're fortunate enough to host College Gameday next year...

Why would cfb fans across America care about derrick coleman?
  21. Ish88888

If we're fortunate enough to host College Gameday next year...

I like it, story after story on famous newhouse grads, cuse players in the nfl, and hof fb players. Stories and parade them in all morning !

If we're fortunate enough to host College Gameday next year...

Agree, and as much as i like JB in spots like that. No JB. This would be CUSE football's day...no hoops...

The New CFB Free Agency look...

Listening to some national sports talk shows and many love and are impressed with the movement of 6-8 quality qbs to starting positions at some big time schools. some as a stop gap and some to compete with some big time young qb recruits. Its exciting and this "free agency " look for CFB is...
  24. Ish88888

Texas QB Shane Buechele in the transfer portal

I understand your argument, but , it's not always gonna 100% favor the team transferred to in terms of these qb transfers. These transfers are free agency and good juice for CFB! Every school wants a frosh or soph qb to develop AND win right away. That's hard ti find and These well...

    ACC Schedule !!!!!

Agree, a bit dramatic thinking missing a HS game one Friday out of the year will affect recruiting. give me a friggin break.

QB Position for Next Season....(not a Devito Thread)

Obviously, you were very perceptive and on to something with the news a few weeks later. Great pickup and thing is, that dynamic may have set in earlier than the bowl phase. Its sad bc CA had a shot to make a splash here, but who knows when he tuned out and started looking elsewhere bc thats...

OT - Do you agree with USC or Not (Kliff Kingsbury)

Lol, yup, totally agree, people speak of McVeigh's coaching tree, lol. He is 32 for the love of God! I think guys like lincoln Riley are better qualified than klingsbury who hasn't won a thing at any level. The RPO system is getting bigger and bigger in the pros and that's the only reason...
  28. Ish88888

OT - Do you agree with USC or Not (Kliff Kingsbury)

Yup, crazy, shows just how much the NFL is dying for young, RPO teaching coaches. ww are seeing a revolution in the pros and that is is college systems being very attractive to owners. Why try and retrain these qbs when spacing and speed will negate NFL defensive schemes!?
  29. Ish88888

Chance Amie Ends up at Grambling

You do realize he is gonzo too, right?
  30. Ish88888

    Shy Ineligible

I apologize for not knowing, but is shy not invited back for his grad/senior year?
  31. Ish88888

    Said it before about Dungey...

Good point, and Peyton threw from the pocket , these RPO systems protect the qbs and put them in situations to make plays.
  32. Ish88888

    Bowl Game in Boston?

Agree, we have seen the cold weather bowl in a pro stadium one too many times. Fenway would kill it as a venue and town.
  33. Ish88888

    Said it before about Dungey...

No, actually, we are talking on the same wavelength. the movement is happening, that's ED 's opportunity. 5-7 years ago he probably doesnt have a shot.
  34. Ish88888

    Finebaum on 2019

AMEN, remember, when saban and meathead, DB, beilema went to the NCAA about 6-8 years ago looking to get tempo and RPO offenses banned claiming BS like increased injury risk!???? Surprised this BS hasn't resurfaced as a thing.
  35. Ish88888

    Bowl Game in Boston?

Better venue and town than the pinstripe. a Boston bowl is long overdue since we started the cold bowl idea about 10 years ago.
  36. Ish88888

    Said it before about Dungey...

Hot take, the college RPO system is taking over the NFL as well as the 38 year yo offensive coach. a coach wo qualifications to be an NFL head coach and a coach with no experience leading a group of men. Nit only men, pros! The narrative the past few years is hey, we can arm you with a veteran...
  37. Ish88888

    Said it before about Dungey...

I like RW, but freak athlete seems a bit strong. i think the strongest part of his game is his mental approach and decision making. That's more than half the game in the league. his arm strength is very good and his speed is good, but its his anticipation that sets him apart.
  38. Ish88888

    Said it before about Dungey...

I think he has a shot, IB. check out my response immediately before this msg by you. The nfl is changing and it is bc the college rpo system is now being implemented, hence the influx of the young college offensive coaches into the NFL. these guys are inexperienced, but understand a system...
  39. Ish88888

    Said it before about Dungey...

Totally agree. its about timing and a feel for the game. rivers has had a funky delivery and has angled throws into some tight windows wo velocity bc he has great anticipation and understanding of coverages. the days of qbs living in the pocket and making all the "NFL " throws is long gone...
  40. Ish88888

    Said it before about Dungey...

Arm strength is very overrated in the league, its about making reads and getting the ball out in time.
  41. Ish88888

OT - Do you agree with USC or Not (Kliff Kingsbury)

Kingsbury is confused and all over the place he will get a shot based on the rams' coach. he has a system and that's it.
  42. Ish88888

Horrible Location for the title game...

Of course, can't argue with the Orange glasses, but many of us are college fans first and looking at the game's health, there are huge problems.
  43. Ish88888

Horrible Location for the title game...

Hopefully, the powers that be of the NCAA, whomever they are take notice of the empty seats in these bowls. yes, the rose will always draw bc of the beautiful environment, but bowls like the popular outback which draws great fan bases being 50% capacity is a huge example.
  44. Ish88888

Horrible Location for the title game...

Would be awesome, even a central local like KC. the midwest is always a great host and the chief's stadium is pretty awesome. Santa Clara is a reach and when new stadiums are built, they always get a bid. Just the culmination of a poor bowl season.
  45. Ish88888

    Bowls Have No Juice...

The playoffs have been a debacle. the semis havent been competitive. the bcs always got it right.
  46. Ish88888

    Bowls Have No Juice...

Great points. most of us were enamoured with the first significant bowl in years. again, these bowls are more the first game of the next year than an extension and reward for the season had and its sad. Kids sit out and the more i think about it, who can blame them. Add in the dynamic of...

    Bowls Have No Juice...

Not talking about the CWB specifically although its included a bit. But , this year, the lack of importance and juice in these bowls id GLARING. ironically, the BCS system preserved the top 8-10 Bowls better than the current system. There was always that subjective chance of the top 6-8...

    Thank you Eric Dungey...

AMEN, and again TY Tim Lester for sifting through all those qb tapes, over 100 and discovering ED. ED was 6'3" 180# and a track guy. Raw as a QB but TL saw his potential and set up Cuse FB for the next 4 years. The thought of Cuse FB wo ED and 4 years of qb experimentation makes my head spin.

Where do we finish in the polls?

Jimbo has AM trending, they will be a force the next 1-3 years.

    Texas vs. UGA

Love your statement. CFB has a real problem with juice. UT in that game at 9-4 is way mire motivated than UGA.
