Several people here completely nailed it, it is becoming a regional sport, not much different from hockey. People will watch their team, maybe their conference. I explained my feeling on Twitter yesterday. I watch the FCS playoffs every year, even though NDSU has been winning most every year BUT...
While the 2018 winner Kyle Murray had some nice stats for a Heisman winner, in 2019 Joe Burrow won it and his numbers that year were off the charts astronomical. A RB isn't the same marquee star that it was even just 20 years ago. Why let a guy get beat up for 70 yards a game when you can...
When was the last time Cuse played Ped State? You've got to play a team for them to be a rival. Besides, you don't choose a rival, doesn't it just kind of happen?
He had 1 nice pass. This is what he has been doing since HS. 1 decent game then next week he will go 9-22 for 97 yards and 3 picks but he's the prototype for a CFB QB.
I was reading and felt compelled to reply. Look at Gus Edwards at Rutgers and Miami. He averaged about 250-300 yards each year at Miami and then had 700 at Rutgers. Not blowing anyone's minds. He then turned that into a pretty decent career at Baltimore and he has done pretty well for himself.
Really? Liberty should NEVER be bigger, stronger and faster than a P5 school. If they are then your school is not recruiting well or coaching well. Worst statement ever.
Sadly, the landscape of CFB has changed dramatically in the last several years and it doesnt benefit the lower tier of schools, and I dont say that to denigrate any schools.
The way I see it, there are 4 tiers of CFB. We all obviously know who the top tier schools are, as they all vie for the...
"Why watch LSU vs Bama if both teams are locks for the playoff?"
Because it is a good game maybe? I have never bought into the whole "the game means nothing" concept. People will watch 2 good teams playing each other and Alabama right now is 1 school that people will watch in hopes that they lose.
Hard to make it to games when the stadium is 3,000 miles away and, hey, why not? The night before Syracuse opens their season and here they are talking about Rutgers football ;)
No, his name just started popping up in the last couple weeks regarding RU and at first I didn't realize who he was because I was incredibly shocked that he decommitted from you guys. I recall people posting absolutely gaudy #'s on here from his HS career.
Havent visited your board in quite a while. If I didn't offer it up before, I shall do it now. What a season you guys had. Congrats to ya'll. Cuse looks like the ship was righted and the team seems young so you should be set for a while. And you kept Babers through this coaching change cycle...
What makes you think Rutgers wood have taken him? Theres a reason he didn't sign anywhere this week. The other site still doesn't list BC as offering...had they truly offered, I wood imagine he wood have jumped on it. I get the feeling he will sign to some fcs school come February.
Nooooo...but I am a fan of hard nosed football players and even I was questioning why he didn't start the 2nd half and then with it took Babers so long to finally do it
I don't see an issue with letting TD in at the end of the 2nd quarter. 34-7, no biggie to pull him out.
Should have brought him back after the 1st score though in the 2nd half after 2 non-scoring drives.
I don't know about all that but ED is the leader of this team. Kid plays like there's no tomorrow. While that might give some coaches pause, thays how he plays and you may as well just let it ride.
I don't think it's an issue that he took him out at the end of the 2nd quarter but your QB...
FWIW, every time Dungey plays, Oregon, Oregon St. and every other west coast team kicks themselves in the ass for letting a local kid get away. Cross country no less. Short of Lamar Jackson, he's been the most exciting QB the last 2 years and today.
What happens to the defense when Dungey is out? I saw this last year and again tonight. Are they that used to the super uptempo game so that when someone else comes in and it slows down that it throws them off? Usually the D will pick up when they have longer breaks, right?
I don't know, I've been following this kid for a while. I thought he was going to flip WAY back. Honestly, if he's still committed, I think he stays committed. He's a great get.
Trill was the one who got away, great job flipping and keeping him (he could have easily blown up last year).
Same one. He took over when Sitkowski got hurt but kept the job even after he was cleared. That kid was going to Minnesota no matter what. He had good, commitable offers but damned if he was going to play there. He walked on and I believe he's been given a scholly since then. Determined bastard...
If they didn't air CFB games, I would never turn it on. And I don't give a rat's ass about all of the political stuff from the last year or so. I stopped watching years ago because it is just bad, regurgitated crap.
It was easy enough to find. It's up on 2-4-7 so it is likely a pay article. I read it, not a ton of info. There are free articles you can find that basically give the same info so you won't be missing anything
