Class of 2019 PG Dakota Leffew (GA/MD)

Of course it is, but posting another round of the same pics from previous visits is just a pure publicity play. We've already seen the first round of photos when the visits were happening, does he think it might raise his price by juicing up the fanbases? It's not a big deal at all just a weird...

Class of 2019 PG Dakota Leffew (GA/MD)

Being a PG doesn’t mean you never score - it’s a mindset thing. Are you a willing distributor, do you make good decisions about when to push and when to slow things down, do you get it to the right guys in the right spots, do you have the court vision - Billy had all of these things spades, and...

Class of 2020 F Jyare Davis (DE) TRANSFERRING TO SYRACUSE (4/15/24)

I agree with a lot of what you’re saying, and I think for us he becomes more of a glue guy than a go-to guy like at Delaware. Where he can help us is hitting open mid range jumpers, grabbing rebounds, defending wings and doing dirty work in the paint. If we throw him the ball and ask him to...

Absolutely perfect reserve forward for this team. I expect him to play close to starters minutes.

That characterization is unfair. The buck stopped with JB and we’ve heard about some jaw-dropping decisions he made in the past 5 years where he overruled assistants.

Class of 2019 PG Dakota Leffew (GA/MD)

I don't disagree with your takes but you keep on piling the historical mediocrity of the previous regime onto Red. He's being tasked with turning over a bad roster and also by all accounts building a modern NIL engine that JB didn't understand. I agree with you that in the era of NIL and portal...

If the pieces fit better they are greater than the sum of their parts. Guys in the right spots with more complementary skill sets + a McDonalds AA and an actual center gives this team higher upside IMHO.

    Possible Portal Point Guards

Yea, I believe in Red but this doesn't seem like the time to put all of our eggs in the Tyler Jackson basket. I just don't understand how we can't package Judah's salary with whatever remaining NIL we have left and make a big play for Mack at the only starting spot we need serious help at.

This is quite an accusation. They may get it wrong - talent evaluation is tough - but they aren’t just looking at box scores, c’mon.

I agree on the pass first, but I do like the size and shooting that Leffew would provide. Having another serious 3 pt weapon would be huge.

Good to hear. In these highlights he’s taking (and making) a lot of tough shots. Hopefully next year Red can coach him to find that balance you mention.

Class of 2024 PF Donnie Freeman (MD / IMG) COMMITTED & SIGNED TO SYRACUSE (5/11/23)

I love that he's developing his outside shot but I'd like to see more activity around the rim. Again I'm going by a few highlights but I don't want him taking tough turnaround jumpers next year, I want him attacking and mixing it up in the paint a bit more.

I know guys include everyone on these lists but that's a lot of high-level interest. Much like recruiting I'm going to trust that over amateur scouts on YouTube.

Who wants to chip in for the Kadary Richmond NIL Syracuse collective?

Did Red recruit him initially? Is there any chance? I feel like he would be the perfect fit.

    Judah Mintz to NBA Draft

I don’t think recruits needed an article but it cleans up the narrative when the new guy arrives. He doesn’t have to make awkward mentions of Judah and how they will coexist, Judah doesn’t have to comment, etc

But at the forward spot we have Chris and Donnie - both good shooters. Don’t you think this guy brings some toughness and defense to the forwards on the roster?

    Possible Portal Point Guards

Agreed. At my marketing agency, the junior/mid-levels all talk about salary, and it would be naive to think 18-23 year old basketball players aren't doing the same. The impact of that on culture is Dasher's point.

This is interesting. Regardless of how much money you have you need that first domino to drop in order to convince others they are joining a program on the rise. Until you get that it's a lot of blind faith.
  44. Scotch

    Maliq Brown in the portal

I think you are both correct. Donnie is more skilled at this stage than Jerami, but he still very much seems like a work in progress. High long-term upside but doesn't look like a lottery pick next year at this stage.
