we have a Nottingham kid and UB transfer DB Josh Mims. Looks to be eligible this season as he played at UB in 2010 and 2011. Totaled 82 tackles and 4 INTs for UB. Listed at 6-0 187. No idea if he's on scholarship of not. Might be a nice addition.

I also noticed a LB from Yates Community College in Texas; Malcolm Howard. Maybe I missed him in the off season. Listed at 6-3 210. Had 25 tackles in 7 games for 10-2 Yates which was ranked #4 in the Nation.

Looks like Mims is actually from D III Buff State.

I can shed a little light on this before I hit the hay here in Philly...Mims went to Buffalo State, to which I am an alum. It's a completely different and much smaller school (D-3) than UB is.

But hey, at least Buff State doesn't pretend to be NY College or something :)

I remember doing play by play for Buffalo State Basketball (which by the way, has former SU fb/bb player Malik Campbell as an assistant http://www.buffalostateathletics.com/coaches.aspx?rc=390&path=mbball)

And the first game I ever did was a scrimmage between D-1 UB and D-3 Buff State. After the Bulls struggled to a modest 12 point or so win over my Bengals, the students were chanting "Back to Elmwood!" Where Buff State was located...After that, lost what little respect I had for what little fans UB had.

At any rate, GO CUSE BEAT DUKE!

Really rootin for Mims, he's a good guy. He played at buff state the year after I blew my knee out and decided to hang up the cleats. First time I met him I was in the union and I was walking back to my spot and I accidentally dropped my trey and ketchup and other food went everywhere. Mims walks passed me, looks, and keeps walking. 10 seconds later he pops up with a fist full of napkins and helps me clean it up. That will always stick with me, not a lot of strangers would do that now a days.
