Since we have some down time between the end of the season and the bowl game let's discuss the pressing needs for next season...the first in the ACC. Obviously, the QB is the key to making everything on offense work. A lot of people on this board think that Zach Allen is the real deal and is ready to assume control. I think he may be a year away from running this up tempo offense - I give the nod to Loeb based on experience. Wide receivers are loaded with Funderburke, Fleming, West, Lewis, etc. Running backs are really loaded with Smith, PTG, Moore, Broyld, etc. Oline should be in good shape with Macky, Trudo, and Hickey...if Pugh returns the Oline is in great shape, if not, they are still in good shape with Foy, Robinson, Phillips and Knapp.
The Dline is stacked with Raymon, MPB, Bromley, Walls, etc. The secondary is going to be good with everyone, but Thomas back. The weak spot might be at safety where we need a good cover guy and a good tackler to step in. Linebacker is the biggest concern...we need a stud at the mike linebacker that can stuff the run. We've been a little undersized at LB in the past. Getting someone who is stout in the middle would definitely be huge.
