These non schedules give us a good chance for 3-1 in 18 and 4-0 in 19.

id expect wagner to be in week 2 or 3 in 2018 unless we end up doing the dome renovations earlier than i expect which is 2019

These OOC schedules aren't the sexiest match-ups, but they're exactly what we need to balance the crushing ACC Atlantic slate we play every year. Plus they provide for less wear & tear on the team so we're better able to excel in November. Imagine that. Finishing strong and going to a recognizable bowl. Although not a foregone conclusion, watching this thing grow is gonna be a joy after 15 years in the wilderness.

If we can hang onto Dino long-term, these schedules are setting this team up to potentially break through that 7 win glass ceiling in 2018 or 2019. That would be huge for the program.

The way ND had been playing, next year could easily be 4-0

They beat us by 17 on a neutral field last year putting up 650 yards of total offense and have a top 10 recruiting class coming in. Anything can happen but I don't think we are winning in South Bend easily.

I call October 3rd 2018 as the date someone posts that our OOC schedule is a death march because it includes a contractually obligated game against a 2-2 ND team and low tier AAC UConn. Then on September 27th 2019 we'll hear that playing 1-3 Maryland is utterly insane. ;)

This is what we have been asking for, what was needed and I think we should be relatively happy. It is not ideal to play a scrub program on the road two consecutive seasons but given how far behind we were and how limited our options were, it is about as good as could reasonably be expected.

When fleshing out the 2018 schedule, note that Wake Forest Has played an ACC opponent in the second week of the season 8 of the past 9 years. They have an opening on Septembet 8th, as does Syracuse. I bet the SU-Wake game is played September 8th, with the Wagner game played on September 15th and a bye week on September 22nd.

If they don't have a very good year this year, Kelly may be gone and that Top 10 class will have to deal with a new coach.

If Greg Robinson can beat ND, Dino can beat ND.

Maybe would have won some more games if Nick Monroe and the rest of the coaching staff had cared to try to coach the secondary in Dino's first Syracuse season

Kind of disturbing that we go two straight years with only 6 home games. Kind of interesting that for two seasons in a row, depending on when the FCS games are scheduled, we may not have a home opener until mid-to-late September. Hmmmm....

Are you sure we're playing Duke in 2019? We played them at home as our rotating ACC crossover game at home a couple years ago. I thought we play a different team from the coastal in addition to Pitt every year. I think we would be due to play NC...no?

ND moving that 2018 game from Sep 22 to Nov 17 sucks for a couple reasons:

1. We will either have 2 Sep ACC games or a Sep bye. Neither is ideal.

2. Lost the opportunity for a Wrigley/ND weekend (as everyone knows, staying in Chicago is 174 million times better than staying in strip mall sh hole South Bend.)

I see you already addressed this one, didn't read thru the thread. I noticed that UConn has nothing scheduled on 9/15 and 9/22 at this point, we should try to move that game up. I think we had it as the 29th when we thought ND would be 9/22.

2018 UConn Huskies Football Schedule

By the way, when I googled UCONN football 2018 schedule, my laptop started crying.

Agreed. The later the bye week can be moved, the better for us. It would be awful to have it on the second week of the season.

Charmin soft OOC. People should be doing backflips.

Agree, not much juice, but hey, people have wanted a rutgers like OOC for years, here it is.

ND always has a top 10 recruiting class coming in. They finished 4-8 last year and are trending down. Kids' transferring out. Kelly's seat is getting warm. Team could be a mess in 2018 (or just the opposite), we'll see.

Wow, you think ND will finish worse than 4-8 in 2017? I fully expect them to get back to normal and win 9 games or so.

Last year was strange for them. They lost four games by a field goal or less. And their game at NC State was played in an absolute monsoon.

I think we can win at ND. I was just disagreeing with the idea that we will beat them "easily."
