Given the issues at DE, I wonder if Josh Black splits time between there at DT.

I know he's bulked up to handle playing inside, but depth might necessitate him shifting back outside.

Lets just hope some of these guys sitting out is precautionary like Coleman and Pierce. There's no need to rush starters back when you already know what they can do. If 100% is FSU then wait til FSU.

Definitely don't like to hear things like 'elbow braces' though.

I'm already frustrated with the injuries. Coleman has had 1, maybe 2, practices in pads. I take all the dline injuries as a sign the oline is just mauling people but we've got so many injuries already...not good.

It's bad enough to have injuries to guys that are projected to be key contributors, but it is very frustrating to have a flurry of injuries at the SAME positional unit -- which really stresses depth.

Seems like that's been a pattern these past few years, unfortunately.

I have a good feeling about Cam Jordan, I fully expect him to be a solid contributor this year. I bet he has a very solid career here. Kinda seems more like a physical tall go grab the ball out of the air type, then a kid who is going to kill you with speed. Kinda Steve Ish like. Let’s hope.

Is Koda Martin just messing everyone up?

Also, with all the injuries last year and the direct negative effect it had on the outcome of games, maybe Dino is being just extremely careful and holding guys out when in reality they could be practicing. I am going with that approach, because for example if Coleman's knee was seriously hurt I doubt he would be in practice walking around teaching players. He would probably be on crutches. I think Dino is being extra safe personally.

Thought about this but seriously doubt that is the case. Everything about this staff tells me they don't shortcut putting in the work. You don't get guys in the weight room making gains across the board without that kind of attitude and expectation at the top. I think the more likely answer is that the capacity for injury has increased. Guys are bigger, stronger, and faster...like an ACC player ought to be. They are more capable of injuring one another. And when you take the leash off, bad things happen.

I think it’s all precautionary. I mean, don’t get me wrong I’m not not worried, but I fully expect 90% of these guys to be ready for WMU.

Also, I don’t really remember this much worry and negative thinking from us in previous camps, and in previous seasons we’ve won 4 games. I’m betting on the opposite effect this year. I think all the worry and doubt with WR, LB, and injuries will culminate into a solid season.

I've head that Babers and staff have really worked the team hard thus far, intending to "taper" down in a phased approach for the rest of camp.

Some of the bumps and bruises could be attributable to how intense camp has been. These guys are breathing fire in the pursuit of a bowl.

I mean yeah, I guess bigger stronger faster guys are more likely to hurt each other but I agree with cuse12. It's training camp. Why not take the precaution if you can? I imagine a lot of these injuries (not all, never all) are quite minor. I don't see the harm (no pun intended) in erring on the side of caution. Your wrist a bit sore? Let's wrap it up. Camp is not the time to battle through ailments without at least some attempt of improving it.
