I get that Limestone is undefeated but are they really better than Adelphi, Lemoyne or Merrimack? Belmont Abby got a 2 seed in the south and realistically have a easier road the both Adelphi and Merrimack.

Hard to say with who they've played but they have 20 NY's on the roster. 5/6 Canadians and 18 kids from MD, PA, NJ and CT. They're legit though I expect the Champ to come out of the North.

I guess that is why they play the games. I just think the south bracket gets a huge break by no one having to play any of Lemoyne, Adelphi, Merrimack, Mercyhurst until the Final. From what I could tell Lemoyne, Adelphi and Mack just beat on each other and could arguably be the top 3 teams in the country. Look at what happened last year with Mack crushing St Leo in the final.

I acknowledged I believe this years Champ comes out of the north, but Limestone has won 3 of the last 5 DII National Titles.

Good stuff Phat. Maybe my issue is with the remainder of the south bracket and not Limestone. There are a few local Capital Dist kids on Limestone in fact - i think from BSpa.

Winners:

Mercy over Seton Hill 15-10
Indianapolis over Queens 16-15
Merrimack over Merchurst 16-5
Tampa over Wingate 13-6

2nd round
LeMoyne vs Mercy
Adelphi vs Merrimack

Limestone vs Tampa
Belmont-Abbey vs Indianapolis

Still think its the NE10 schools and Limestone. Too bad as a final four of Lemoyne, Adelphi, Merrimack and Limestone would be outstanding.

NORTH
(1) Le Moyne 14, (4) Mercy 4
(6) Merrimack 14, (2) Adelphi 12

SOUTH
(1) Limestone 12, (4) Tampa (2OT)
(3) Indianapolis 14, (2) Belmont Abbey 13 (OT)

So your DII final four is

LeMoyne vs Merrimack and
Limestone vs Indianapolis

That Lemoyne vs. Mack game should be fantastic. Both previous games were very tight. I wish I could get down to Syracuse for that one.

Merrimack 16, Limestone 8

Caught most of this game - Ton of cny kids on the field. The Bertrand kid on Merrimack (Baldwinsville) would have started on just about any D1 program. Merrimack going D1 next year so he’s eligible to transfer for his senior year.

Merrimack is going D1 next year? Why would they do that?

Same reason as just about every other member of that conference moved up from (mostly) D-3 - CB$ ba$ketball monie$. The two St. Francises and LIU-Brooklyn are the only full-member schools that have always been D-1.

LIU is consolidating next year (I believe) and will be D-1 in all sports. So, LIU Post will now just be LIU and will be D-1 in lacrosse too.

Yes, that's correct. The problem in lacrosse will be for the women. Both campuses have women's teams, while only Post has a men's team.
