2019 NY Football Giants Season ..

You might have an entirely different defense next year. Most of these guys want to go through the fa process and if you do sign him you gave up a 3rd and 4th. There is a reason the jets have no interest in a guy who they used a top 5 pick on.

yes there’s a reason...the Jets are perennially stupid and they suck.

perhaps the GM knows better that they won’t have an entirely different defense next year?

The Giants will get a compensatory pick back if they don’t resign Williams.
The second pick they gave up was the overpay but it’s not that much. The Giants are getting a 3rd round compensatory pick for Landon Collins going to Washington.
So essentially they traded the Collins pick and 5th rounder for a talented kid or another 3rd pick a year later.

If the Giants were contenders it’s a great trade.
But they aren't which makes it puzzling.

This Williams move to the Giants is kinda like the Mets trading for Stroman.
Nobody understood the Mets buying and they got back in it.
I don’t expect the Giants to get into a crazy NFC wild card race but if the Giants beat Dallas next Monday the Eagles and Cowboys both play the Patriots.
The Giants could be saying what the hell make a run at the NFC East knowing it’s for next year.

To have any prayer of winning the NFC East the GMen need to run the table and win their remaining eight games. 9-7 isn't gonna get it done.

It's hard to believe after last year and this year that he's going to bring him back.

Williams as a FA would get a deal with an AAV of atleast 10 Million per year.
He is beast when motivated.
He is always motivated when the Jets play the Patriots. He is a good DL. His problem has been he takes weeks off when its not an elite opponent.
I am sure he will be good for the Giants.

And that's the guy you want to invest a lot of money in. He has talent but the motor isnt always there which is a problem.

The guy is 25 and has TALENT.

He is a Giant now to show him he will be cornerstone of the next inevitable SuperBowl run and win.

he is also no longer a jet, watch him flourish.

Tons of new players and young players...and frankly still too many bad players.

Fill the holes and give the young guys time to mature and the group time to gel, and we’ll see what happens.

I guarantee you all if we look up their record in the 80s and 90s all whites, it’s below .500

Not a fan.

The jersey is certainly cool and I can deal with the helmet, although I like the ny much better.

But the white jersey/white pants look just says L to me.

It says “1990 NFC title game” to me!

Wow. I knew we played a lot of rooks, but I had no idea.

Are the Giants going to claim Josh Gordon off waivers?
If they do they would get a compensatory pick when he leaves as a FA.
I know the Giants need a WR.
So I wonder if they will claim Gordon.

1. I don’t think they could withstand the PR hit
2. I don’t think Gettleman cares, he will be signed

Go ahead, flip your coin.

There is no PR hit if they claim him.
Gordon has been a good kid he was just washed up this year.
That is why the Pats had to trade for Sanu.
Gordon would be a pickup to just buy a future draft pick when he goes to another team in 2020.

I couldn’t remember his exit reason, assumed it was bad.

I still doubt it, they’d have to cut a YoungBuck, with an injury??...he could be claimed while the other kid is still in the tunnel.

I only have one real hope for Monday’s game:
do NOT let that friggin antique Jason Witten score his 762nd career touchdown against us.

This will be the 1st game all year the Giants will have the skill players on offense they wanted in July out on the field.

Barkley
Tate
Shepard
Engram

Now Williams on D.

Bet the Giants...heavily.

And so much for that.

No Shepard

Evan Engram is in a walking boot. It never ends.

Step 1: Flash Greatness -- everyone is excited and he’s finally about to live up to the potential
Step 2: Disappears -- Misses assignment, drops passes, whiffs on blocks.
Step 3: Gets Injured
Step 4: Repeat Step 1

Sounds like there’s some OL changes for Sunday. Pulley in for Halapio. Gates in for Remmers.

Hope it helps.
