2020-21 MLB Off-Season thread

They made it to game 7 of the ALCS.

They aren’t going to be terrible.
They have talent.
The team will have money to spend.

I'm just saying with that great free agent class next offseason. Hal and Cashman will be answering to do if they are not active. Just saying.

You guys don’t need another bat.
The Yankees lineup is deep.
Maybe a LF but not an infielder.

You guys need pitching if you are going to spend big bucks.

This board will be sending as many players into the HOF as MLB this year.

Joc Pederson to the Cubs. Will miss him and wish him well. Hope he gets that everyday role he wants and mashes 40 in Wrigley.

Sorry, he’s Farrah Fawcett today.

See you in the World Series, -insert AL team here-.

Wow. The Rockies overinflate the market for 3rd basemen with that ridiculous contract and then move him. Anthony Rendon should sent someone in Denver flowers.

FIFY

As I said in the first page MLB wants to push back the start of the season and cut some games off.

There’s No Such Thing As The “Rays Model”

“The Rays should not be ashamed of their success, but the fact that their philosophy for building rosters and winning games has been held up as a particularly savvy one is bad news for baseball. It leads to outcomes in which the Rockies are not only emboldened to trade away their best player, but are granted the ability to hold up the move as an example of bloodless, state-of-the-art team-building savvy. The Rockies are either stupid enough to think that trading away Arenado actually makes them as smart as the Rays—they’ll worry about finding cheap, good players and going to the World Series later, I guess—or cynical enough to believe that the Rays’ success will allow them to get away with one of the most brazen and shameless salary dumps in baseball history. Rockies fans lose either way.”

Mets are spending.
They better sign him, if they went this far down the road and dont get him, that is a disaster. This could be the best offseason in Mets history.

Went to Dodgers according to most reports today.. Not really understanding why people were so worked up on getting him for that crazy money he wanted..

We got better across the board pitching already this yr. and we saved the money we needed to do other things.

Lol Mets pulled a Mets and the Dodgers came in and got an agreement with Bauer.

he was never coming here.. he was just trying to get more money from LA to go there.. good for him. great for the Mets

In what way? Haven't seen the numbers yet but it seems like the Mets had a very solid offer

Their were reports they closed the deal.
Apparently the Mets gave a Bauer a deadline to accept which he used to get the deal he wanted from LA.
This isn’t going to be a long term deal.
It’s going to be a high AAV for short years.
Bauer got a 3 year deal where he can opt out after year 1 and after year 2 if he wants. Deal is going to be around 40 million per year.
Year 2 is 45 million. Year 3 is 27 million.

So 3 years 102 million
