Just wanted to give props to the many Buffalo fans who stepped in to sing the Canadian national anthem after the singer’s microphone malfunctioned.
I've read maybe upwards of a third. In any event any Sabres fan can sing it since it's played at every home game. Most of their fans are Canadian. Huge fan base in Ontario
Toga was a lot closer. 15% of Sabres season ticket holders are Canadian.I've read maybe upwards of a third. In any event any Sabres fan can sing it since it's played at every home game.
That looks like quite the series and hard to imagine an easier Conf Final for the winner. Has anyone mentioned how terrible the playoff format is in the last 10 minutes? In Minnesota's case I guess they'd deserve a break after these first two rounds.Holy Cow! Colorado goes up 3-0 so okay, they're an explosive team. But in no way did I expect to see them lucky to get out of the 2nd at 5-5. Wow, what a great 40 minutes! Quinn Hughes is sofa king good. There are faster skaters (McD, McK) but nobody more nimble. And he's the best since Gretzky at knowing where everyone is all the time. I'm glad he's out of Vancouver so the rest of the continent can see him play.
This is garbola. Typical Toronto media BS, who think they speak for the rest of the country. I detest the Montreal Canadiens. My favorite time in the NHL playoffs is when they're both gone. It's even better when neither makes it in.

Todd: Stanley Cup hopes of a nation rest on Canadiens’ shoulders
The Habs may be the game’s greatest dynasty, but they haven’t won a championship since 1993, nor has Canada.torontosun.com
A caveat, as soon as I see "Toronto Sun," I move on.The writer is Jack Todd from Montreal... I don't think the content of the article fits the headline that strongly, certainly doesn't emphasize that the nation as a whole is behind Montreal -- from what I understand its often sports editors who "headline" the article and that may have been the case here.
Montreal and Toronto have by far the largest fanbases in Canada, with many outside of their markets. So they have a broad section of Canada behind them, but its certainly not from fans of other Canadian teams. If you are a fan of a Canadian eliminated team, Montreal and Toronto will have by far the lowest % switching to them (as compared to the Western teams and Ottawa, which fans tend to get more behind).

everyone screaming rigged. Frankly i dont care if it is or is not. This is likely the closest thing to a championship ill see them win in my lifetime.Toronto wins the first overall draft pick in the lottery tonight. Best thing to happen to this team all year
There was a lot of "Rigged!" crying when Chicago won the rights to Bedard.everyone screaming rigged. Frankly i dont care if it is or is not. This is likely the closest thing to a championship ill see them win in my lifetime.
At least I’ve seen them win a cup. But I was seven.everyone screaming rigged. Frankly i dont care if it is or is not. This is likely the closest thing to a championship ill see them win in my lifetime.
pretty impressive they could get the ball machine to spit out 12. or maybe the balls were actually covered with that green screen material and they just projected 12 on it at the end. thats feasible but so many would have to be in on the subterfuge. There was a lot of "Rigged!" crying when Chicago won the rights to Bedard. before i was born. my first vague recollections of watching hockey were 79 when they faced the canadians in the playoffs. my dad was a canadians fan. I think i began to like the leafs just because they were blue. lanny mcdonalds moustache was memorable. At least I’ve seen them win a cup. But I was seven.
At least you missed Foster Hewitt and Ward Cornell. Probably also Brian MacFarland, who was worse.before i was born. my first vague recollections of watching hockey were 79 when they faced the canadians in the playoffs. my dad was a canadians fan. Something we agree onAt least you missed Foster Hewitt and Ward Cornell. Probably also Brian MacFarland, who was worse.
I caught the very end of MacFarland. I remember Dave Hodge. Hewitt was bad? they gas him up so hard as one of the greats. At least you missed Foster Hewitt and Ward Cornell. Probably also Brian MacFarland, who was worse.
They thought the sun didn't shine until the Toronto Maple Leafs got up. But even worse was Danny Gallivan. He and Dick Irvin just couldn't understand why everyone didn't love the Montreal Canadiens as much as they did.I caught the very end of MacFarland. I remember Dave Hodge.
