Hughes is our top 3 point shot maker with 62.

Battle, Frankie and Buddy are all tied with 29 made.

Of the three, Buddy has the best shooting percentage at 36.3%.

in conference play, its a bit closer
eli 32, .372
buddy 21, .477
frank 20, .345 edit .351

then tyus trails with 14, .280

Tyus, woof.

Although his percentage from 3 all season long has kinda sucked.

cumulatively, our three main 3 pt threats are shooting .388 & making 6.6 per game

yeah, tyus & oshae (8, .258) have not come up as i had hoped

then there is the curious case of marek dolezaj. i can't remember the poster who pointed this out (edit: acuse816) , but credit to him: su is now 11-1 in games where he attempts at least one three, and 8-0 (5-0 acc) in games in which he makes at least one

Kind of amazing with the way we were shooting at the start of the year.

I think I heard someone say Hughes leads the ACC in 3 pointers made per game.

Thank you

Tied with Wilson-Frame from Pitt with 32 (conference games only).
Buddy would be leading the ACC in 3 point percentage, but is 1 3 point PG short of qualifying. If current trends continue, that should end shortly.

Right now, Tyus Battle is only 2 assists behind Frank for the team lead. Now Frank missed 4 games with his injury and that is a big reason why but it is more than that.

Things are changing with Tyus playing more PG. If you look only at ACC play, Tyus is leading the team in assists with 37. Frank has 28 and Marek is right behind him with 26.

In terms of assists per minute (conference play only), it breaks down like this:

Battle 418 minutes 37 assists, .089 assists/minute
Howard 303 minutes 28 assists, .092 assists/minute
Dolezaj 244 minutes 26 assists, .107 assists/minute

I think points per minute (conference play only) are also interesting.

Battle 418 minutes 195 points, .467 points/minute
Howard 303 minutes 103 points, .340 points/minute
Dolezaj 244 minutes 40 points, .164 points/minute
Brissett 379 minutes 146 points, .385 points/minute
Hughes 371 minutes 143 points, .385 points/minute
Boeheim 156 minutes 81 points, .519 points/minute
Chukwu 217 minutes 39 points, .180 points/minute
Sidbie 76 minutes 6 points, .079 points/minute
Carey 50 minutes 6 points, .120 points/minute

You can see why Buddy is getting more playing time. I think it is more about his outstanding production than Frank playing bad.

Wonder if Tyus' number is a result of him playing so much point guard. Not that matters just curious.

Have to love Buddy's .48% ACC percentage. And people think the kid is only the the court because of his Dad.

he was pretty bad early too though

Yeah it's a little unusual for a guy, let alone a freshman, have their percentages increase in conference.
jimmy boeheim is 9 for 22 in conference play

boeheim brothers are 30 for 66 in conference play

generally true, but oddly:
last year, frank went 25/88, .284, pre-conference then 42/117, .359 in the acc.
freshman oshae shot 14/50, .280 from three non-conference, then 32/85 (.376) in conference play

oshae has not shown improvement this year but frank has
9/39, .231 pre-conference to 20/57, .351 acc

we had so many years of guards who feasted early and shot terribly in conference (which makes more sense)

Cooney 28% on 288 3s in february and march for his career
Triche 28% on 196 3s in february and march for his career

glad to see that changing

Are they tied per game?
Yup - 32 3's in 11 games so 2.9/game.

He's going to break Matt Roe's top single season 3FG pct. mark (.474) one of these years. Probably next year. And Roe did that with the best assembled talent we've ever had on the Hill.
