Agreed. Between how effectively they "defend" and scoring just enough, they're a tough match up for us. But that's all.

I did not watch the game with volume today (technical reasons).

But I did watch the Kentucky vs some team game today. About 90% of the broadcast was about Kentucky and the progress they are making.

12 on shots from halfcourt, lets ease up on the great attacking Pitt zone offense Doris...was getting pretty tiresome
Paulie, I wish I could give you a 1000 likes. i actually picked up the phone to call espn to complain. I haven't done that with dykes or their other clowns. And I like Doris.

It's amazing what people will complain about... Guess every announcer has to just talk cuse for 40 minutes and how wonderful they are for people to be content. Doris wasn't that bad and for the most part Pitt was doing a very good job not settling for jump shots, but working the ball into the high post for good scoring situations. Their interior passing was better than any team this year against the zone. And the shots that Patterson hit were open looks that most good players will make. If anything she could have been really mean and talked about how Pitt out hustled and out rebounded them during a portion of the second half.

She had good things to say about syracuse as well and talked highly of cj and esp Ennis.

Hey man all the power too you but that broadcast was terrible imo, and I never complain about such things

Seriously? You think 38% from the field is good offensive execution against the zone? You're completely out of it.

If that's the case, our offense (which I thought was pretty average tonight) must have looked phenomenal to you.

Patterson's explosion, offensive rebounding and FT's that's were they got 85% of their points.

She said she was a Georgetown fan. That's all I had to hear.

Doris Burke is from the Dick Vitale school of repeating the same 5 talking points the entire freaking game. She is annoying, but because she is entrenched with Dick Vitale and Jeff Van Gundy/Mike Breen she isn't going anywhere even though her schtick annoys me. She knows basketball and prepares well, but repeats the same bleeping points over and over and just ruins the bleeping game.

I would love to see Reggie Miller or Larry Bird or Ray Allens career statistics on shots over 28 feet out, probably worse than Pitt today. I wouldn't call those good "basketball" shots. Did they go in? was he hot today? absoulutely, but kind of plays into the zone thing we have going on here,

I seemed to notice the 25 footer didn't go in in the last minute though

Kentucky has very little team chemistry amidst all that athleticism.

I'm not saying cuse's defense was bad at all. It really tightened at the end of the game, but i thought Pitt did a good job getting the ball into spots and created good scoring opportunities around the hoop, but didn't finish many good opportunities. There was also a point during the second half where they really hustled and got after the offensive glass. Syracuse proved why they are the best team in the nation by staying composed, making key plays to retake the lead and ultimately winning a tough, hard fought big east game. They locked down defensively over the final 7 minutes and that is the sign of a great defensive team. We can all be proud of the Cuse tonight.

When it comes to Doris she might not be one of the best, but is a lot better than a lot of the clowns we have had recently. She does her job and is prepared. She sticks to the game at hand and doesn't go off on wild tangents about non basketball chatter like a Bill Walton has been doing. She also doesn't mess up players names like we have been seeing lately. I just think compared to a lot of what we have seen, she did a good enough job to avoid criticism, but every one is entitled to their opinion which is good. I apologize if I came off too strong with my initial post, didn't mean to ruffle too many feathers in here.

Well considering we shot 51% from the floor and 72% from the line, we did look pretty phenomenal against a physical Pitt defense. We played better than our averages would show, except from the 3pt line.

Pitt did have great execution against us, they got the ball into the lanes at will basically, and made wide open shots at the middle of the zone. They also got 16 offensive rebounds on us, the problem was, they didn't finish at the rim, but they got the ball down low A LOT more than we should have let them. But they missed 10 of their free throws. They executed almost as perfect as you can against the zone, but it still wasn't good enough. Just sayin.

And I don't think they expect to be 100% there at this point of the season. If they do get there soon, they'll be even tougher to beat than they are now. They're one of the VERY few teams I'm afraid of come March.
