Just another reason to be 'Cuse in the ACC. Here are some key financial points for this ACC bowling season:
1. Based on all bowl eligible teams (including 'Cuse) the total $$$ to be earned are: $37,000,000
2. All bowl monies go to the ACC Conference to be distributed
3. Distribution will be among 13 schools plus the ACC Conference
--Notre Dame does not share in revenue this year
--Maryland share will be withheld...what a good feeling.
4. Based on point 3 above, each of the ACC schools will receive between $2,200,000-$2,500,000 in additional dollars
5. ACC does provide a travel stipend to each school going to a bowl...typically comes out of the Conference share of bowl receipts

Now for some comments onprevious input (from the stealth side) that many on the board have helped to bring to light and/or took part in discussions:

1. The Conference since early May has been looking at football division realignment...and the whisper is that it is close to fruition. This will happen in either '14 or '15.
2. The ACC Network continues to move forward...it is looking like '15 or '16 to come to fruition...interestingly it will have a significant digital element that exceeds any other conference if present strategy holds. There is movement with ESPN and buy-backs from others that hold ACC rights...note that Raycom most likely will be a player in this (especially the digital part) as will Notre Dame.
3. Notre Dame, may need to play only four games against ACC in '14...but will make that game up in either '15 or '16--note 'Cuse game is good to go. Note that Notre Dame will compensate ACC if this happens...the ACC Conference is very pleased with the Notre Dame association.

To all of you: Happy and Healthy Season Cheer!

Well that was off...my projection that is with a few teams changing bowls (including our 'Cuse and a few bowls raising payout this year VS. last year) the PAY-OUT goes way up...so here is the final estimated per team tally (have now checked this twice):
There is $50,000,000 to be shared (ACC sets NCAA record for most teams in bowls):
A) equal distribution to all teams (minus $0 for ND and Maryland) plus Conference share generates $3,600,000 (averagely)
B) equal distribution and Maryland share is held by Conference: $3,360,000 (averagely)

Don't forget the ACC provides equal shares to all teams and then:
A) pays a % of travel and meal and hotel expenses
B) has stated but not yet determined how to payout more bowl revenue to teams going to bowls vs. those not going--incentive for doing well in football (and same scheme will be adapted for Bball also)

So what was a MILLION MISS---yippee!

Not bad Arb. We're getting closer to the gazillions that WVU is earning for being in the B12.

What did we make with the Big East Bowl Season last year? Just trying to get some perspective on how much it went up with the ACC.

What does the school do with this money?
