ACC Conference Schedules Released

this just in from durham-chapel hill: schedule of each team must be approved by Roy and K before released to public

It kinda makes sense we'll see the layout this week sometime.
Let's see, the first exhibition game is October 25th. That's a very short time frame to get all of the season tickets printed and mailed out.

i cant believe it still hasnt been released yet come on!!!!

I wonder if the hurricane pushes this off to next week?

Here are the 9 home conference games we will have this season:

Boston College, Pittsburgh, Clemson, Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Miami, Virginia

What we we want? The best home opponents to be scheduled on weekends. That means Duke and Virginia. UNC is away only. V Tech is away only. The next best are probably Florida State and Clemson. And even if UL is down some, it would be good to have them on the weekend since they are still a big name.

With so many players expected to leave after this season, it would be great to send them off with a great opponent and a huge crowd.

I am hoping Virginia gets slotted for the last weekend of the regular season. We are never going to get Duke or UNC then...UVa is the next best thing.

I think we also want the away BC game to be on a weekend. Let's throw a bone to BC ticket sales and our fans in New England!

Maybe I read it too fast, but the only good Saturday game is Duke. Sad.

Huh.
No home game the first weekend of the new year (good).
Clemson on Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. (good, could be worse, though that'll be a small crowd).
Home game on the 12th (meh, many students won't be back).
At Duke about 46 hours later (not cool, ACC, not cool).
Pitt at home on the 19th (good).
Miami on a Thursday at 8:00 p.m. (weird, what is this, an Ivy League game in 1985?).
Again a ~45-hour turnaround to Blacksburg. Thanks for nothin'.
FSU on a Tuesday at 8. Whatever.
BC on Saturday at 2 (good).
Another off-weekend. What?
Duke-SU primetime - great, exactly how it should be.
And Senior Night on (formerly) Big Monday vs. UVA. Could be better, I prefer weekend home games to close it out.

Not the worst schedule we've seen, not the best. Glad we don't have any 9:00 p.m. weeknight games or 6:00 p.m. Sunday games against putrid opponents, and it's good there's no marquee opponent during Christmas break.

What’s with all the 8:00 pm games?

Gotta be TV, but I don't know why. ESPN drove the switch from 8 to 7 in the late '90s because that enabled them to get in a double-header during primetime, but I don't see that the ACC's move will get them viewership for a bunch of 10:00 p.m. games.

I'm just happy there's no 9:00 p.m. tips. Nothing says "I'm eating these tickets" like facing a trip to the Dome for FSU or somebody at 9 on a Tuesday. That was a chore the last few years.

I prefer the 8pm games. As someone who gets out of work between 5:30 to 6 it's a pain to try and meet the wife and get up to the hill. This lessens the pressure.
