GREENSBORO, N.C. – Senior quarterback Eric Dungey and redshirt senior defensive tackle Chris Slayton will join head coach Dino Babers as Syracuse's representatives at this year's ACC Football Kickoff. The league's annual media event takes place Wednesday, July 18 and Thursday, July 19 at the Westin Charlotte in Charlotte, N.C. Two student-athletes and the head coach from each of the ACC's 14 member institutions are scheduled to attend.

Head coaches and players from ACC Coastal Division schools will be available on July 18. Representatives from ACC Atlantic Division teams, including Syracuse, are available on July 19. In addition to gathering interviews and sound bites, media in attendance will vote on the preseason All-ACC teams as well as the league's predicted order of finish.

The only active FBS quarterback with 6,000+ passing yards and 1,000+ rushing yards, Dungey holds or shares 12 Syracuse records. He ranks fourth in conference history in total offense yards per game (296.6). In addition, Dungey is the ACC active career leader in quarterback rushing yardage (1,239), touchdown passes (40), total offense (7,711 yards) and rushing touchdowns by a quarterback (20).

In 2017, Dungey led the ACC in completions per game (25.0) and ranked second in the conference in total offense (343.3 ypg) and passing (277.2 ypg). In nine games, he completed 225-of-377 (59.3 pct.) passes for 2,495 yards and 14 touchdowns. He was also Syracuse's leading rusher with 595 yards and nine scores. Dungey was named to the Athlon Preseason All-ACC Third Team in May.

A preseason All-ACC selection by multiple media outlets, Slayton is the Orange's active leader in games started (29), tackles for loss (24.5), sacks (6) and forced fumbles (4). He totaled 28 tackles a season ago, including 8.5 for losses, one sack, one forced fumble and one blocked kick. For his career, Slayton has 83 tackles in 36 games.

Dungey, Slayton and the Orange open 2018 preseason camp in August. The season opener is set for Friday, Aug. 31 at Western Michigan. Syracuse's first home game is Saturday, Sept. 8 versus Wagner.
