I know recruiting rankings are kind of difficult to check for accuracy, and have loads of accuracy issues. But, in general, the rankings given to players by recruiting services do have some basis in reality. They also give us something to talk about.

The ACC has been really bad at basketball the last few years. Historically bad for one of the best long term conferences.

The light at the end of the tunnel is that 8 of the 25 best overall recruiting classes (combining transfers and high school recruits) are for ACC teams. Syracuse isn’t the only program to dramatically improve its talent level.

The ACC leads all conferences in the 247 rankings shown below.

Obviously, the accuracy of these rankings can be called into question… But the massive improvement of talent into the conference, on paper, can only be seen as a plus.

If we win, we want the wins to mean something… If we lose, the losses don’t hurt quite as much when it’s to a very good team. Hopefully, the ACC returns to where it belongs next season, as one of the best, if not the best, college basketball conferences.

October 15th ACC preseason rankings below. Also it's pretty ridiculous that even with the abomination that was last season we finished 1 game away from a 5 way tie for 9th place. The ACC was just a mess.

Also the 10 people they are counting for commits excludes Donnie and JJ. Not sure how they are counting the returning guys.

Plus, unlike many other programs with ten newcomers, our returning players are actually among our best.

We have 6 transfers and 4 freshman recruits.

George, Kingz, Kyle, Souare, Betsey, and Zephir.

Anthony, White, Fennell, and Womack..

They aren't counting the returners. As Niastri noted at the top of the thread, and I repeated, the rankings combine the (incoming) transfers and the high school recruits.

This roster is TALENTED af. An average coaching job should make for a very fun year. A huge opportunity for Autry! Not many coaches who had the season they did last season gets to experience a major roster upgrade and keep their job.
