Only 12 undefeated teams in D1 basketball left:
Kentucky
OSU
SU
L'Ville
Marquette
Mizzou
Baylor
Xavier
Indiana
Illinois
Creighton
Murray State

Side note: The SWAC has to be the worst conference ever. Best team record: Alabama A&M now 2-3

It will be at most 11 after tomorrow, with UK playing IU.

There are also eight winless teams...

.Binghamton, UMBC, Hartford, Towson, Chicago State, Northern Illinois, Morgan State, Grambling State,.

Which will we have longer -- an undefeated team.. or a winless team?

As we know, Syracuse may wind up number one as a result.

I would think winless, it's harder to go undefeated.

Murray State takes on Memphis at 6:00 today ... and then there were 8? possibly

Breakdown: Big East = 3
B1G =2
Big12 =2
Xavier

and I expect with Holloway and Lyons gone for at least 10 games ... Xavier drops to Long Beach State or Gonzaga

Memphis will also play Louisville next Saturday so they could knock off 2 undefeated teams in the span of 6 days.

Murray State is for real... took out Memphis. Still 9 undefeated teams

Memphis is not very good this year. Best win was over Belmont. They've played a tough schedule, but you have to eventually win one or two of those games to be considered a good team.

If they can't beat Lville or Gtown (which they play again this month), they might have to win C-USA to make the NCAA's this year, which is no gimme with Marshall and UCF stepping up and capable of challenging them.

As far as the remaining 9, we could be next to go down. Here are the toughest games coming up (as I see it):

SU - Dec.17 @ NC St.
'Ville - Dec.17 Home to Memphis
Illinois - Dec.17 Home to UNLV
Xavier - Dec.18 Home to Oral Roberts but playing short handed plus O.R. not too bad.
Mizzu - Dec.22 Home to Illinois
Baylor - Dec.23 Home to WVU
Indiana - Dec.28 @ Mich St.
Marquette - Dec.29 Home to Vandy
Murray St - Jan.7 @ Austin Peay

Dec.22nd ... 2 unbeatens (if they still are) ... Mizzou and Illinois
and I expect with Holloway and Lyons gone for at least 10 games ... Xavier drops to Long Beach State or Gonzaga

and I guess I was wrong about those suspensions ... shoulda been 10

and then there were 8 ... down goes Illinois. Baylor shoulda gone too

and then there were 7 ... Xavier goes down to Oral Roberts ... suspensions cost them ... good!!

Murray State may go undefeated ... I was looking at their schedule and they are entering conference play. The Ohio Valley Conference has got to be one of the weakest I have ever seen (other than the SWAC of course)

And they will probably be no better than a 6 seed if they do go undefeated.

and then there were 6 ... down goes Marquette to LSU? Wow
Don't steal my thunder CTO :)

Louisville and Indiana go down ... Baylor just squeaked by. Great basketball last night

Baylor now with two straight wins at home. Both games with questionable calls in closing seconds to keep them undefeated. They also struggled at BYU to eek out another win.

Seems like I have been doing this forever. And then there were 3. Mizzou goes down to K State (Baylor will lose its first game to K State as well).
Side note: SU only undefeated team in BE ... Cincy goes down to St.Johns!! GTown loses to WVU

Big day for undefeateds
