First of all — really nice article. Interesting story — how do you follow up a phenomenal freshman year when you get a lot of pub and a lot of hype? Also some nice tidbits on his off-season workouts and plans for the offseason. Type of article we used to get a lot but haven’t as much lately. Would be nice to hear from Monroe but nice quotes from Dino. Also nice insight on the end-of-year meeting.

Hard not to get excited about the way this program is trending.

I know. Love Dino and he’s the head guy so whatever, but I hate that policy. Like hearing the assistants weigh in on stories like that.

I mean, fluck it, let’s do it... what could go wrong?

I think this could be a start to one of the best secondaries we have ever had. Starting and backups. Our depth is awesome at this point. We don’t need to rush frosh in and they can lift and learn at their own pace. In my opinion Trill has highest ceiling with mu and cisco right behind him. I actually think all 3 could be first round kids upon graduation. Super excited this year and I wanna see how Fred does against the Clemson kid. Big challenge for him but I think he can do it. Our defense takes big leaps this year. Play aggressive, downhill in front seven, fast, and hangry and we could be stellar on that side of the ball. Do I seem excited here it’s because I am. I want teams to not score on us cause we were mean and physical. Let the dogs out as they used to say.

Yeah I get it and Dino can do what he wants. But the guys who have the most intimate and direct knowledge of these players and the work they're putting in are the position coaches. To say assistants should never talk to the press b/c of McDonald is kind of ridiculous, IMO. But I'm always thinking of the guys covering the team. Most people hate the mean, nasty old enemy of the american people press these days.

I never said they shouldn't talk to the press, just that the last time we had an assistant talk to the press it was a clusterf***. Two different things. I'm indifferent on allowing assistants to talk to the press.
